The Insurance company should pay the money. That's why the district paid premiums for all those years. But just because they should pay the district, it does not absolve those who stole the money from their obligation to repay what they stole. It just goes to the insurance company if they ever pay.

Oh, here we go.
"Insurance will cover it, don't worry about it!"
Why should insurance settlements be used to compensate for obvious criminal and egregious behavior? Why should insurance money paid with MY tax dollars in my school district be used to bail out another scandal-ridden school district?
I'm incensed that now this is to be brushed under the carpet with mere slaps on the wrists.
Board members are supposed to oversee school spending not be shoving their hands in the cash box while looking the other way.
Ignorance is no excuse.
It's time to move forward and hold these self-serving "Board" members accountable.
If an Insurance Settlement is reached, what kind of message does that send?

To the Board of Education of Rosyln:

Stop wasting the taxpayers time and money on suing yourselves. You are showing just how inept this Board really is. Concentrate on BUDGET and SAVING some of our tax dollars.

It's smoke and mirrors.

The premiums the district pays will increase substantially in order to offset the payouts.

Guess who will be paying the premiumns?

The same people who would have paid the costs had there been ni insurance.... the taxpayers.

For the crime to have gone on over a decade, the board members must have known or they must have been so clueless. If they knew, then they should get their own defense. To get the insurance company to foot the bill means that ultimately, taxpayers pay again. If they were so clueless, they should not have been on the board and should be lobotomized immediately to prevent more harm to others.

Obviously you don't understand. This means that the school district can collect money from the insurance company. Money that was stolen from the district can now go back into the district where it belongs.
