It's sad when corrections officers and cops have to work without contracts, function with minimal staff, and be subjected to Monday morning quarter backing when it comes to the performance of their jobs. The worst thing is that they are expected to interact with violent law breakers without using excessive force. Heck, they wouldn't delay a moment in assaulting officers but the hesitation of officers to use force ends up in their getting hurt or killed. My hat is off to all the men and women in law enforcement. Thank you!

its that fed judge, who wanted chg @ nassau, and like everything else, you go with the best you got, its hard, and the pubil gets piss, as all they here is the money , they get paid and bennis, its wrost than being a cop, but in the old days, nassau med, was right next to the jail, and you walk them, from the tunnel to the nassau med, than nassau was sold, its stupid, cause whatever the reason, it should of stay @ nassau med.

The officers went to Winthrop for multiple reasons. They have the right under workmans compensation law to go to any medical facility they choose. Just like you could. So why would you go to a government funded poor house like NUMC?

You must be a 25k newjack scum with senioritis who barely got through the background check. Learn the job, then open your mouth. Who the "F" uses the term "Defensive Tactics", besides academy instructors and newjacks?? If you are injured responding to an incident its still considered an on duty injury. Let Newsday spin this all they want, as for officers, we will stick together.

What does an appointed administrative position have to do with officers getting injured? Secondly, if you walked the walk, with your attitude it must have been a long lonely walk. NYPD "the real job?" Not when your assigned to Staten Island because you can't play well with others and your hidden with the other underachivers. True LEOs respect other leos, even if their not m.o.b. Get it, jackass! Now go to the range and pretend your stil otj.

My husband is a Correction officer at the infamous riker's island and I worry majority of the time about his well being while he is there. The men and women who do that job have a lot of stress on them. May hat also is off to all folks that do that job each and every day.People all too often have negative things to say about CO's but if these are the men and women who keep us really safe by making sure the crimminals stay locked up.

Still, while most officers were hurt because their lard butts fell while responding to the fight, one handcuffed guy beat down 2 CO's....which is a damn disgrace.

Please learn from his-story, and beat this guy AWAY FROM THE VIDEO CAMERAS....

those c.o.s got what they deserved. all they do is threaten inmates and beat up on one inmate 5 at a time but does anybody hear about these events. no. i am glad one of the inmates swung back on them and kicked their asses.(all 7 of them)

the same reason you guys send inmates to numc right after you beat them up then write a false report and make the inmates pay for youre bills when you claim you were hurt the ride to mineola in the ambulance just tacts on more for the inmate to pay.

with your comments you keep proving why cops are fags, stick together punks. you no better than the gang members, only diffrence is your punk ass got a badge.you still need your buddies and a gun, to make you feel tough, and cover for each other. there are good cops, the ones who know they are to help the public from scumbags with and without badges.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Scorpio

It will be easy to let things get on top of you today, especially if you're already feeling rather tired and listless. Do yourself a favor and keep away from anyone who often makes you feel a bit fed up or defensive, because they're the last person you want to be around at the moment. They'll make your spirits sink down to your ankles in a flash, and who needs that?
