Good luck, cretins.

You won't have cell towers, but you soccer moms and stay at home housewives surely love to talk on your phone with 5 bars while driving your large gas-guzzling SUVs. America at its finest.

But it's ok, the minute amount of radiation from TVs, computer monitors, overheard power lines, and any other electronic devices and conduits will give you cancer too right?

If it meant excellent cell phone service, I'll let any cell phone company put a cell tower on top of my home.

Grow up.

I love the woman who said when she heard about this that she was "in shock." Uh, honey, where do you think the cell phone signals come from? Just sort of hunting around the atmosphere, looking for a phone to hook up with? That's the question that the writer should have put to the protestors. Two questions, actually: do you have a cell phone? and if so, where do you think the signals come from? The answer, of course, would be, yes, I have a cell phone and the antennas should be "somewhere else" away from people. Uh, but you need the antennas near people so people can get their signals. The mind of a NIMBYite...

Typical NIMBY reactions from these people. Funny you mentioned TVís and computer monitors because the old CRT types emit more harmful radiation than cell towers. Iíll bet cold hard cash that these complaining mommies are sun worshippers who expose themselves to more harmful radiation from the sun than they will ever see from any cell tower. These idiots also donít realize that they expose themselves to more RF radiation and are at a higher risk the longer the duration their phone calls are.
Iíve been thinking of renting to Verizon to finally get a decent signal. Depending on your location, HAAT and some other technicalities, a wireless provider just might be willing to pay you to put antennas at your place.

If they're complaining about cell phone towers, I can't wait to hear people complain about wind mills, solar panels and nuclear plants for alternative energy...

Supply and demand. All you idiots that feel you and your children cannot live with Cell Phones have caused this need for all this Cell Phone crap. Now you are pulling the NYMBY stuff.
These cell phones are the reason TV is going digital...they need to use the TV frequencies for more and more cell phones. It used to be ONE hard line phone per household. Now we have 1 cell phone for each member of the family and they are wireless so they need to be on their own frequency..Good luck with your Cancer people. Our children will be dropping like flies

First Northport and now Roslyn. They are the biggest offenders when it comes to driving without hands free devices and putting on makeup at the same time. I see it every day.Amazing. Unless every resident who lives in these "Special areas" doesn't own a cell phone then they have no recourse but to have a tower somewhere in their town. Everyone else does. And in case you clueless morons haven't noticed. Look on your Water Tower. I guarantee there is at least one antenna array from a Provider up there. Get over it. This is a public service and a life safety issue. Stop thinking you are better than everyone else and join the crowd or we may just send protesters to your towns and force you into building a tower there.

If the transmissions from these Towers was unsafe we would all be dead by now. Cell phones have been around for over 20 years. What do you do when you need to make a call? Go to Glen Cove? Get over it and do something useful with all of your free time Soccer Moms. You are annoying the rest of us responsible people.

This is so true. I also use the phone but for emergencies only. It makes me sick when you are on line and they are on the phone talking nonsense. Or in the car while driving. At the department stores and you hear their whole conversation or shall I say business. It's always the woman I even heard people talking gossip on the phones in the stores. But now they are complaining b/c there's a little antenna going up it's for them don't they realize it.

I'm sure these people wouldn't mind the antenna be on the roof of an apt building near their job site in manhattan.

Under Federal Law the Village Board can't consider enviornmental effects??? What??? You mean the Cell Industry lobbied to have this provision because they know there are negative effects. Find the politician or politicians who got paid off big time and jail them. Just look at who sponsored the legislation and you will have your answer. The law flies in the face of public health and logic and should be challenged. It is almost definite the legislation will be overturned. The Village Board should go to court and request a stay pending a legal challenge. I have had prior experience with T-Mobile. They are the worst outfit out there as far as customer service and being a responsible company. The worst

Yeah, the people that inhabit roslyn go to sleep with cell phones taped to their heads. When they're driving they are always yapping as they have to analyze every second they breathe and talk to each other about the dump they took that morning, how they spotted a five cent error on their diner bill, and how vunderful Obama is!

Being a retired cop I'm sure you have met your quota of tickets of people on phones while driving. But yet they waste their time protesting.

"Tran told her children, Angela, 8, and Alexander, 6, they could become sick ..." Now that's responsible parenting. Way to try and scare thecrap out of your kids mom. So I'm sure to set a good example for your kids, you will no longer be using your cell phone, because some study says it will give you brain cancer.

But honestly if the cell tower was set to be installed in Hicksville, Levittown or East meadow it would be ok. But if you ever dare want to add something like this to a snob zip code "not in my backyard you dont"! Just look at the mosquito spraying and where it stopped on the northern part right before the N.S. Pkwy, and why certain people think they have certain powers...get over yourselfs build the antennas so we can all have better reception....stop your wussy complaints already!!!
