Someone should ride eastbound along Vets Highway around that area. There are large trees growing sideways off landscaping that has NO retaining walls. One good rain or snow, and Vets will be covered by trees.

It was my fault. The tree didn't pay me the vig. I collect campaign contributions from everyone and everything. And remember, Christmas is a dirty word!

As Town Supervisor I know this. Istanabus Ubanga Willets. He was a famous Prussian immigrant noted for saying "don't use the word Christmas withing 500 yards of sacred town property." The reason this particular tree was not cut was that the crew was whisling Silent Night on the day they were suppoed to cut it back. I, as Town Supervisor, issued a decree to stop aand cease work on the projectimmediately.

I. U. Willets was Isaac Underhill Willets, a wealthy farmer way back when.

Complain when they build a wall, complain when they don't, complain when they take down the trees and then complain when they don't. All you people do is whine and wait for the government to take care of you like mommy does.

CBS Reported that she reported the tree to the Town of Hempstead with no help... of course she wouldnt get help, cause she lives in the town of north hempstead... besides she works at waldbaums.. she was very rude to me one day... The tree is on her property... It may have not been put there by her. but its her responsibility to maintain it if it is effecting the sidewalks or fences along the street. She didnt wake up to this tree... Did she?

No Mexicans? Who's doing the landscaping and the other contracting jobs then?

Sadly, this is quite believable.

Since the recent "show trial", building inspectors have not been collecting.

My condolences to the family of the victim of this accident. Regardless of the responsible parties for the tree (if, indeed, there are any) someone is dead, and it's just not funny.

Life is a fragile thing - and every second counts. Just think, had he been 15 seconds ahead (or behind) his current schedule, he either would have gone by and missed it, or seen it fall and stop.

I pray he did not suffer long.
