And this is why, in my opinion, the fact that Sheldon Silver has not been investigated for being in bed with the plaintiff's personal injury bar is a far greater insult to the people of NY than what Eliot Spitzer did (and I say this as someone who has been cheated on by their spouse).

These scams don't just hurt the insurance companies - they hurt all of us because insurance costs go up for everyone and they hurt people who are truly hurt because the insurers are now starting to challenge more claims and it can actually be harder for a person who is injured but is stoic and who goes for treatment only when their legitimate doctor tells them to.

It should be easier to weed out insurance fraud and there should be harsher jail terms and more seizure of assets for restitution.

Screwed up part of all this is that the punishment will not fit the crime. These people stole millions and won't get half the time of a bank robber who used a note to steal pocket change.

You shmucks forget that all the suspects are innocent until proven guilty. In what aspect are you, great American democrats, different from Chinese or Russian public courts?

This type of insurance fraud is what created our company. I have seen videos of these types of swoop and swap car accidents roll over my desk on a daily basis. A few years ago a "ring" of over 200 people, doctors, lawyers, runners in Suffolk County were caught but not properly prosicuted and released. You will see this from Montauk to Buffalo. Welcome to the wonderful world of New York State No-Fault Insurance...

Medicaid is the biggest fraud magnet for criminal scum doctors, chiropractors etc.. Many of the clinics are owned by the Russian mob from Brooklyn and Manhattan.

the brokers lie, the people lie, the "doctors" lie, the AAA are on the take $$$$$$ and I can't even begin to talk about the attorney's that represent both the "injured" parties, the providers, the management companies that run the scheme. I have seen arbitrators rule in favor of theives because they want to protect their jobs. they make over $100k a year and maybe hear a few actions a week.!! well, clumpt them in with the school administrators, the attorney's (oh again).... we get raped on the front end, we get raped on the back end and everyone thinks that it's ok.
