Review: Big Ray's Quick Lube

Tried to upsell me to an engine flush that I as a mechanic do not need. I was told that I needed a new air filter and watched him "check it" but he just snaped the clip and never looked in. But the worst is that I asked for 10w-30 and that is what I paid for but I got 5w-30. Manager reeked of pot smell. Do not go there.

Many (actually most) of these places try to sell you a bunch of way overpriced services and filters. I like to let them go on and on trying to sell me and then I get my oil change only and get out of there. One place tried to charge me a fee for their mechanics uniform. I told them they could change my oil naked but they wern't getting that allowance.

This is by far the worst place to get any service done. Not only do they try to sell you services you don’t need but they are rude while doing so. Example: the manager who’s name was given as “Sam” not only was very rude and full of high pressure sales pitches, removed my cooling cap while it was hot and under pressure. Needless to say he got burnt when the hot coolant exploded from it’s unnecessary removal. Stamped on cap (Do Not Remove While Hot). He then has the gull to try and blame my so called lack of maintenance for his stupidity all the while attempting to sell me flushes, system cleaning and high mileage oil. Now here’s the kicker to this story. They didn’t put on a new oil filter. After arriving home I thought it would be a good idea to check and sure enough the old dirty filter was screwed onto the side of the engine block. When I called to ask about this, I was abruptly hung up on. Tomorrow I file a complaint with the Roseville Police for Fraud.

I just had an identical experience. Samir was rude and insulting and borderline manic. I plan on taking this to the next level,(after I check to see if I still have the old oil filter.) Just unreal that this guy operates this way. I just kept my cool and told him that he needs anger management and customer service classes. D. Coles, if you see this post I would be interested in knowing what, if anything, Roseville P.D. did. This guy wins Asshole Of The Year Award.
