This guy must have NO life.

Seriously.

I think I read in a forum he was a county worker.(This was before he officially became a troll.)

Why am I not surprised?

Actually there are more "pit bulls" than any other "breed" in the US, approx 5 million

Yes, you *are* uneducated. Using your logic, Pit bulls are involved in more attacks because they are such a popular breed. THAT IS FALSE. Pit bulls are *far* less common than Labradors and German Shepherds. So, by your brilliant skills of deduction, Labs should be responsible for more attacks, which they of course *aren't*. That makes your information biased and *wrong*. And you want us to "educate" ourselves by Googling "Pit bull myths" so we can be directed to a website filled with lies run by Pit bull breeders and enthusiasts. Yeah, right! NOT gonna happen!

Pit Bulls are dangeropus in a community. Owners who have them need to have to get a specal license and carry insurance to cover the medical cost or damage they do to other people`s animals or people.
I can`t think of any community where they should be allowed

For somebody who bills themselves as a "dog lover", you sure don't know much about dogs.

This Saturday a relative came to visit a tenant with his American Bulldog. (Breeders changed their name in 1970 from Pit Bull due to bad reputation of bull dogs.) Another resident was outside with her little tiny Yorkie. The bulldog lunged out of his owner's control and attacked the Yorkie, breaking it's neck and killing it. Bull dogs are killer dogs and should be outlawed. I refuse to rent to anyone who has one.

ANY dog has the potential to be vicious. The idea that Pit Bulls are more dangerous than other breeds is based in media hype and ignorance.

I respectfully disagree, Nifty. Aggressiveness seems to be inherent to the breed in my expereince with them. It's almost like a mental illness waiting to be "switched" on. For years their fine...friendly to people and humans then one day BAM! They kill another dog that they've been around since puppyhood. Or attack their owner with no provocation. My daughter has 2 of them and as much as I like them I certainly never turn my back on them or trust them around my own animals.

Sorry, but I'll take research and the experience of veterinarians and animal behaviorists over personal anecdotes.

I feel awful for Ms. Rutuya having her dogs killed in such a violent and unneccesary way. I have 2 dogs myself and I could not even imagine how distraught I would feel if that were to happen to them.
I'm sure that her neighbor didn't mean for this to happen, but it did. If it were me I would get a lawyer and try to get as much money as I possibly could out of the neighbors. They should have to pay a hefty sum for their carelessness.
your a dumb bleeding heart lady... its a REAL dogs instinct and your little worthless dogs that cant defend themselves would be dead without human interaction anyway... survival of the fittest retard

okay, the debate is still out. Whether Pitbulls are dangerous, etc. I say ALL dogs have the potential. I have 4 dogs (one a Pit) and although don't believe any have harmful potential, why chance it? I have grandkids and NEVER leave them alone with my dogs...ever. Hey, I watch the news. Ay animal that viciously attacks another/or person SHOULD be put down..period. My Pit comes from a relatives who raises Pits...yeah, lovely. Those dogs appear friendly, but have turned on another with horrific results. Yes, death.I rescued my dog only after seeing him for a year being literally torn up time and time again. The owners say the dog "aint right"...because he wont fight back. I say, he's just right our clan. Its just hubby and me.I love my animals. The dogs coexist wonderfully with my cats...all animals are spayed and neutered. I must say that if we had an intruder it would be our little mixed mutt that might attack first. And it is sad and awful what happened to the lady's beloved pets.

You're absolutely right... ANY dog has the potential to attack. To leave a young child unattended with any animal is grossly irresponsible, whether it's a Pit Bull or a parakeet. The problem I have is with the claim that Pitties are more likely to be vicious than other breeds; it's just NOT supported by the research! The Pit Bulls just happen to be the "bad dog" of our generation. In the past, it's been Dobies, Rottweilers, and even German Shepherds... the same ignorant propaganda was put out about those breeds, but you sure don't hear about it now.

Lets not forget St. Bernards. When I was a kid...back in the Stone Age, their were reports after reports of attacks with that breed. The problems too often than not, lie with the breeding line and not the owner per se. The Pitbull breed is still being bred to fight. My son's a cop in a rural town where it's a very big problem disgustingly so. As a kid, I was knocked off my bike by a german shepard. That dog wanted to have me for a Scooby snack, no doubt. The ownerwas a kind woman, the dog wasnt so kind. But I have a shepard of my own today who has never bitten, growled at, or chased anyone. Hands down, everyone should think of their dog as a potential.....

Just a point of clarification... there are some strains of Pit Bulls that are still being bred to fight (by criminal thugs, of course). Reputable dog breeders are not going to use any animal for breeding that's shown a tendency for aggression.

These dogs are just as loving as any other dog. It may just be bad breeding or how the owner raised the dog to be.

An America Bulldog is not a Pitbull
