They are saying it can't, but they really don't know much about the fungus. This is bad... get ready for a very buggy summer.

We have found two dead bats in our yard within one week. There was no evidence of white fungus around their face/mouth area.

On Sat April 5 around 1:00 PM, I spotted a dying bat outside hanging on the sunny south side of our house. It was grooming itself a lot like it had fleas, and also spreading its wings in the sun. It appeared very tired, like it kept falling asleep. It flew several times, short distances and low. It rested on floor of the back deck for while and walked around there a lot before flying off to a nearly tree. It had no white on the legs or mouth. Its rear end seemed shriveled and papery but I don't know what they normally look like.

This week my neighbor here in New Paltz also found a dead bat hanging on the side of his house. He also found a unusual-looking large brown dead bird with a very long beak. Like me, he had never seen a dead bat before.

Tonight after cleaning and vacuuming in my room, I later found a bat crawling around inside my room on my dog's bed. My husband put it outside on our deck, but it just crawls around and hasn't flown away. I don't know how long it was inside our house, and hope it is not going to die. It does not appear to have a fungs

My dog picked up two bats a few months ago. I have only seen one live bat all summer. It's so very sad.

I have a friend that has about 300 bats living in their barn, she has found as many as 5 bats a day dead or dying in their yard or barn. The dead ones total over 30 at this point.

There is a disease within the bat population which will potentially spread to other animals and then humans. STAY AWAY FROM BATS PPL!
