There are a lot of pictures online. Try Facebook under Cardinal Farley Military Academy. Also try flickr.com look under Holy Cross Campus. Tons of pix in there.

I remember CFMA not as a student but as a rival. I attended St. Francis Xavier in Manhatta from 1965 - 1969. We had a great football rivalry back them. Always envied you guys, you had a great campus. Sorry to read that CFMA is gone. I guess the late 60’s and 70’s killed off many of the secondary school who had JROTC programs.

I'm sure that is the same Buckley. How many could there be? His son's name was Andrew "Drew". He went to "Camp Elerslie" too.
I still have great memories of enjoying the run of the campus.
In the late seventies, it became a drug rehab place for teenagers. Holy Cross was a petty big departure from the CFMA environment.
I ended up renting a house nearly across the street from the old Cardinal Farley. On the property there were the remains of a massive cattle barn that burned in '64.
It was pretty weird living that close to the old place!
It was also pretty cool to live right next to the Hudson River. The power bill was $15 a month. There was crazy deal that we got power from the old CFMA power and there wasn't any meter on the house. Holy Cross, charged us a flat rate. Imagine how many electric heaters we had in Winter. It was petty cold, living next to the Hudson.
After a couple of years, I had to move on. I don't think I know how good I had it.
I wonder if that was the same house I lived in as a child. We moved to Florida in '66 and I remember the barn burning down prior to that.

a lot of Brothers were frustrated boy abusers-they would be locked up now

I was also there about your time in Spellman Hall with Brother TB Murphy as my Prefect. The day before I went AWOL. Brother O'Toole & Brother Murphy both administered 20 shots with their leather straps for my smoking violation! I was scheduled for another 20 before the student body at mess, but ran instead! Never regreted my AWOL because I never went back. Finished my high school in Public school instead. I guess Farley went belly up due to,overuse of the descipline and paid out some serious money in the end. I finished public high and the did 4 years in the USAF in Asis, including the Philippines and Viet Nam. No regrets but wished I hadn't started smoking caused it costs me a lot of pain. Quit now!
