No I did not

I bashed Amby for not bashing the daughter for not using birth control because amby loves to talk about STDS and other herpes related things.
You just jumped to your own conclusion devoid of any facts. The very thing you wrongly accused me of.

No, you did not state it as an opinion. You bashed Amby for not bashing the daughter for not using birth control as if that was what, in fact, happened.

Yes there is, the very first sentence points to a lackadaisical attitude towards BC. She wasn't even really into the guy, he just scratched her itch occasionally. To think she was not too concerned about BC is not out of line.

Actually, I jsut heard a federal law enforcement official talk about this, and she said that most guns used in crimes either were stolen by the criminal, or stolen and then sold to the criminal.
She seems to be wrong based on what those two articles say. I'll go with the recorded statistics from both of my articles verses what one federal law enforcement official says.

So you bashed ambyfor not talking about something that wasn't part of the letter? And that's different how? And that's relevant how? The LW wrote about her daughter getting pregnant, not getting an STD. So what did Amby not saying anything about STDs have anything to do with the letter? Nice backtracking. Discussion-wise, you are like watching someone dizzy and blindfolded trying to hit a pinata.

Your first link was stats from 1994.
I also gave you one citing more recent data. Both links show that this is not even close to the primary method that criminals use to acquire guns. You were insinuating that this was the only way possible for them to acquire weapons and thatís not true. It wasn't true in the 90s and it isn't true now.

And by your own out-dated link, stolen guns make up for 15% of guns on the street.
Are you really trying to defend your argument by using stats from 25 years ago?
edogxxx wrote:
<quoted text>YOU said people aren't interested in stealing guns. You just proved yourself wrong. and when did I ever say that stolen guns made up 100% of guns on the street? Your arguing with me about a claim I never made.
I didnít say that no one is interested. I said I donít know why she is ďoverly concernedĒ about it. Itís not a huge problem and I also think the chances that the babysitter associate with criminal underworld types is not very likely either. Most home burglaries arenít for purposes of stealing guns. Most folks would rather break into the home of someone who doesnít own guns than someone who ones a gun, just because of the off chance that someone could be home when the burglar doesnít think anyone is. I know I would if I were a burglar.

Do hunters keep the fact that they are hunters and have guns in the home hush, hush, because any random person they tell might know that they have guns in the house and could tell their criminal underworld associates that they have them so that they can steal them? What about policemen? Do they keep it a secret that they are policemen for fear that someone may know they have a gun in the house? What about folks who go to ammo shops or gun ranges, do they disguise themselves or switch cars and on the way back to their home for fear that someone may tail them to find out where they live so that they can steal their guns?

That this lady is concerned that the babysitter knows they have a gun in the house is a bit ridiculous, IMO. Thatís all I was saying.

Are you saying that amby has NEVER written about STDS in a letter that was not about STDS? If you can say yes to that, dont let the door hit you on your way out.

I dont have to back pedal, well, not unless I am trying to help you keep up.

I have no idea, and again, I don't care as it has no relevance to the letter at hand. STDs were not mentioned. Neither was birth control. You are off base on both. At least the birth control is in the same arena as the LW's complaint pertained to pregnancy, but the STDs is just BS backtracking by you as it had NOTHING to do with the letter. Swing and a miss, slugger.

You ask me "Are you saying that amby has NEVER written about STDS in a letter that was not about STDS?" and I say I have no idea and explain why it's not relevant and that's deflection? Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot, I was supposed to be keeping a journal of when Amby wrote about STDs and of those times how many were spawned of letters that were not about STDs.

TSTI.

How in any way, shape, or form did I "insinuate" that? You're trying to draw me into an argument of your own making. How many times do I have to tell you people I will not attempt to defend a stance I never took?

If my husband (oh please be Justin Beiber!) ever told some random teen we hired to babysit our child that we keep a gun in a safe, in the bedroom, second door to the left, third shelf of the closet, I would be PZZED! How do we know she doesn't have some junkie brother or gangbanger boyfriend who would love to get their hands on a gun?

I ahve to wonder, does husband inform everybody who spends time in their home that there's a gun locked in a safe upstairs?
