The reason it's not on the news is because news operations, such as ours in LA, generally do not cover suicides out of respect for the families and the victim.
Occassionaly we'll make an exception if it's someone famous.
So that's why you didn't see it on the news in LA.

OKAY WELL I GO TO ELMONTE HIGH SCHOOL AND I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT HAPPEN CAUSE I WAS THERE, SO HERES THE INFO HIS NAME WAS KEVIN HO AN ASIAN GUY. HE RECENTLY GOT DUMPED AND HIS MOM HAS CANCER AND THEY BERLY HAD MONEY, AND HE THOUGHT HE WASNT GONNA PASS HIGH SCHOOL CAUSE OF HIS GRADES. HE FEALT USELESS. BUT THEN ONE TRAGIS DAY, DURING SECOND LUNCH, HE HAD A PLAN, HE ALREADY HAD THIS PLANNED, HE HAD PLANNED TO KILL HIMSELF OVER 2 MONTHS AGO, BUT IT NEVER WORKED BECAUSE THERE WAS ALWAYS SOME ONE WACTHING OVER HIM, HIS X-GIRL FRIEND. BUT ONE DAY HE TOLD HIS GIRL FRIEND TO COMMINT SUICCIDW WITH HIM, SHE RUFUESED AND GOT SCARED OF ALL THE CRAZY THINGS HE SAID AND DUMPED HIM, HE HAD HELP FROM A TEACHER ABOUT SUICIDE. BUT UNFORTINALLY THE DAY HE DECIDED 2 KILL HIMSELF ON THE BASEBALL FIELD, WE WERENT DOING PHYSICAL EDUCATION NEAR THE BASEBALL FIELD,WE WENT TO THE BACK COURTS, SO IT WAS PERFECT NO 1 WOULD SEE, BUT MY FRIEND SAW HIM JUMP FROM THE TREE, SHE RAN AND IGNORED IT SHE THOUGHT HE WAS GONNA JUMP DOWN. WELL HE JUMPED ON TO THE TREE AND CLIMED THE FENSE OF THE BASEBALL FIELD, HE WAS WEARING A SUIT WITH A TIE WHITE SHIRT BLACK PANTS AND A BELT, IM NOT SHURE IF HE HUNG HIMSEF WITH THE TIE OR BELT, BUT IT WAS ONE OF THOSE. 30 MINUTES LATER I WENT OUT OF MY CLASS ROOM I NOTICED EVREY 1 IN A CROWD, SO I WENT TO SEE WHAT HAD HAPPEN, AND THERE WAS KEVING HUNG. WE ALL HAD TO RETURN TO OUR CLASSES, BUT I WAS AT THE 2ND FLOOR AT THE SCHOOL AND I COULD SEE HIS BODY HANGING. IT WAS REALLY SAD AND DEPREASING WE HAD LOCK DOWN, EVREY 1 WAS CRYING. THATS ALL WE TALKED ABOUT, KEVIN HO. THE SAD PART WAS EVREY 1 WAS BLAMING HIS SUICISE ON HIS X GIRLFRIEND SHE CRIED AND CRIED, BUT SOME 1 STOOD UP FOR HER, IT WASNT HER FAULT KEVIN DID THAT. I COULD STILL REMEMBER LOOKING OUTSIDE OF THE 2ND FLOOR WHEN THEY CALLED KEVIN HOES PARENTS AND TOLD HIM. VERY TRAGACLE
excuse me? what is your problem? he NEVER told his girlfriend to do anything. learn to spell.

Part of the reason kids don't know how to spell anymore is that some teachers don't read the homework. They mark it as complete or incomplete, and just give credit for work done, not the correctness. Also, some teachers do this because they are poor spellers, and they don't value spelling and grammar. I'm not writing about El Monte High specifically, or all teachers; I am just describing some teachers I know or have met. By the way, it's not necessarily better at private school. I hope this wasn't too much of a bummer.

I'm in Rosemead rivrdancr. I was in El Monte earlier this week. The teachers I'm mentioning weren't in El Monte, but I'm sure some there are like that. People need to be more demanding.

Kevin doesn't need more rumors being spread, especially by people who know almost nothing about who he was and what happened. This was Kevin's choice. Most of us have excepted it and will always have him in our hearts. There is no one to blame. He was a good person and deserves to rest in peace. If anyone has compassion, leave him be.

My name is kenneth and i was one of kevin ho's best friends....yes it is true...he committed suicide by hanging himself on the baseball field fence about two stories high on the date of April 12, 2006...he did this around the time of 11:45 to 12:00 in the morning...i was at lunch when i saw a bunch of students running towards the school's baseball field...i heard people saying that it was a fight...i didn't bother to see what i thought was a fight...the lunch bell rang for all the students to go to their fifth period class and I started to walk to class...i started to hear people say that someone had hung themself...i had no idea it was kevin...that night all of his friends came to the site in which kevin had taken his life...and we just mourned...people brought candles and balloons and other gifts for him....many people showed up...a few days later was his funeral...and now his friends live on with just a memory of him.

This is all rumors stop making up stupid rumors. i go to that school. and it doesn't matter if its not in the news. our school does not like to talk about it. his father did not die. his mother was not sick. thats pure bull. and it was not because of his ex girlfriend. the reason they do not show it on television is b/c they do not want teens copying him. enough said.
Well it seems to be like you know it all why dont you clear things up. People have the right to assume stuff if the facts are not there. I did not know this young man but I pray that he is in a better place now and I pray for all those affected by this incident. May God bless you all!!! May he rest in peace.

What Kevin Ho did was a selfish act. don't get me wrong he was a great guy, a Track buddy of mine. I say his act was selfish because he didn't stop to think for a moment, about us,(his fellow school mates) it was terrifing to see him hanging from that fence... something I don't want to see for a long time. In school they talked to us about suicide and how to prevent it... but they never really show us the correct way to grieve. to take this and put it all aside. its very difficult
now days to pass by and know that barely almost a week ago we talked to him and in the afternoon saw him hanging from that rope... Yes, a terrifing story sad too, but all I hope is that he's resting in peace. coz, it was wrong for him to take his life that way.. and Kevin.. we miss you and wait for us.... my next race will be for you!

Im sorry that you had to go through this experience. That is terrible for you to feel the way you do with this awful tragedy reminded to you when you see this fence I pray for Gods comfort to be with you at this time.

I'm surprised to find that the news of his death reached to so many places. I had known Kevin since the third grade. It was very hard for me when I found out that he had hanged himself. When I first heard, I didn't even cry because I didn't want it to be true. When I got home that day, I read about Kevin on the news and that's when I broke down and cried. I felt numb, and I couldn't do anything for the rest of the day. The next day, all those who knew him and those who didn't know him mourned him at the baseball field. We held candlelight vigils for him for a month. It took me about a week or so to stop crying and just accept the fact that he's in a better place now.

Just let him rest in peace. He's in a better place and you all have to deal with that. How selfish of you to take his pain as your own.
