Ahhh so instead of choosing to slowly leach off his parish over the course of many years the priest tried to get his money in a lump sum. If your dumb enough to donate money to a church then you shouldnt be suprised when someone takes it. You can worship in public parks you know...

I just have to laugh when the Roman Catholic church claims to be any sort of moral authority in today's world. They are as corrupt as the day is long.

He should have started a Ponzi scheme......... He would still be a free man.

Better to read about a Catholic priest with gambling addictions caught pilfering from the collection plate rather than the usual sick acts they are so often accused of......and to think the local parishes have the nerve to ask for more money week after week.

It's wonderfull being an ex-Catholic. I think every Catholic should reconsider. Try being a Pagan instead. God in nature. God is energy, not a being.

I'm not a practicing Catholic, but I glad to see any immoral preist go. This doesn't mean I'm going to be narrowminded and blame the system; they caught him. Now let's see who can step up to the plate and take his place?

I don't ever remember this type of bail being set on a member of any clergy for raping and/or sodomizing children; not even when there were multiple victims by the same clergyman. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me. If not, I guess money talks.

Hopefully he did not gamble it all away so he could post his bail.
