what's the big deal? something like this is the "chicago way". People in chicago repeatedly and proudly send crooks into office,why should the Church in chicago be any different? I'm pretty sure that when this all gets settled he'll be made Democratic Committeeman or Lt. Gov or something.

Regan, he is just like the guy next door...one out of every 4 people misappropriate funds that aren't theirs, priest, lawyer, doctor, accountant, janitors, whoever. So, this means he'll go to prison like any other person? Therapy works but how will he repay the parish? Is he not responsible because of an addition? What are the consequences for this crime... or will he be transferred to another parish?

The Catholic priesthood is filled with sexual predators, thieves, hypocrites, bigots, and the biggest scum bag of all... a Nazi pope who supports and reinstates an excommunicated piece of crap who says Jews were not gassed during WWII. So, what's the big deal about a priest stealing $300K? He'll probably be made a cardinal for his efforts.

He had no problem with his "addition", it was his "addiction" that caused the downfall.
