The other day while sitting in the court room of Superior Court Div.6.I observed a very disturbing incident...Prior to court starting there was a detective, the judge, and another member of counsel standing in the doorway leading from the Judges Chamber into the court room. The detective was looking at a file he had in his hand and was chuckling to the charges that a young man was being held on.He began stating what the defendant had been to college for and making fun of his degree vs. his criminal charges,Kicker is he was not the only one doing the "laughing".A lady that was sitting in front of me started crying and said aloud "Its not funny,Thats my son you are talking about,Its not funny"The court recorder jumped to their defense and informed the woman that they were not talking about her son.The recorder had no idea what was really going on.The three men (judge included)slid back out of sight into the chambers until we were all asked to stand for the "Honorable" Judge...He rudely addressed the woman and said that the detective had just made the note to the education the defendant has and they were laughing because the night before the judge had to throw a trash can at a snake that was by his back door ...Really Judge? How honorable.

My point was not whetheror not it was a funny joke...My point being the judge is supposed to be honorable, professional, and non influenced by either of the parties(prosecution or defense) By displaying this kind of behavior he proves to be none of the above. This is @ 100true I totally agree! The judges, police, and our government officials are so very corrupt(DIRTY).

If you were not part of the conversation, nor did you directly hear what they were saying, then you are simply assuming they were saying anything inappropriate.

Humor is needed to break the monotony and pain from dealing with the people in the courts. You are not in an environment with our communities best citizens.

Why where you there? With your loved one that got into a fight because he heard someone talking about him?

You are a troll. If there is a real issue then you need to address it to the clerk of the courts. Not some trash internet forum.

It's just more Terre Haute corruption. Seems like 95% of the court people and cops are extremely corrupt and evil and the 5% that are not are clueless to what's going on. I've saw some of these judges before, and they are nothing more than another angry police officer but in a robe PRETENDING to be fair and impartial as a referee.
All alcoholics too! As well as insane.

People like this have seriously ruined Terre Haute and keep is legacy of corruption and evil in tact. They have betrayed the U.S. Constitution as well as the people of Terre Haute. When young kids see things like this, it's no wonder that they hate cops and laws.

technically speaking, these people should all be investigated, taken up on terrorism charges, charged with treason, and thrown in jail! I'm not kidding!
This is serious, yet nothing is done. And the more of this kind of behavior occurs, the more that they will try to get away with , much like a child.

I have an old friend who is a state cop and a good man as well. He says that there is a federal investigation slowly starting in Terre Haute.
It's long overdue!

Anyone who speaks out against corruption, MUST have a criminal record and be one drugs. No exception! IF your story is even true, which I highly doubt, then the judge probably didn't know what was going on. A judge has to be fair and honest and uncorruptable. Haven't you ever watched Judge Judy? You're a idiot and a felon!

I've always thought that it "should be" a conflict of interest for a defendent to have a public defender, or any lawyer from the same area, for the simple fact that they ALL (judges, prosecuters, lawyers, arresting officers) work together, eat together, hang out together, on a daily basis....guess that's just another "proof" that it's all about the money.

These blasted know-it-alls from ISU really make my ass want to crochet. Until they have walked in the real world they need to remain silent and learn. Just because someone cracked a joke about a defendant ( if that happened) doesn't mean they couldnt be fair minded.
If you're in the court room you are either in trouble, with someone who is in trouble or a student. None of which makes you qualified to determine who may be doing something wrong.
We do have some issues that need to be corrected but I doubt you're the one to do it.

Explain The REAL WORLD (from your obvious detached perspective)
As for cracking jokes: There are Judicial Rules of Professional conduct although, they aren't upheld in Vigo county sadly.

"who may be doing something wrong."
MAY BE that doesn't mean the accused is automatically guilty. Of course if the court violates his 8th amendment right that protects against excessive bail, and the courts usually do, he will plead guilty to anything for the sake of getting out of prison and the state wins $$$ on top of that.

"If you're in the court room you are either in trouble, with someone who is in trouble or a student." - Not so. Every case is different. Also I was not aware that Vigo county declared a war on students. As much as you may hate education, you can do nothing to stop it.So deal with it.

I'm sure that you'll post back with some more ignorant lefty crap and that's fine I'm not listening to your BS. Make a fool out of yourself all that you want. LoL!

I don't know why you have an obsession with defending court corruption but if you really want to live in a police state, with out a system of checks and balances, then move to Iran or Korea, hey?
Or maybe you could see a shrink for your anger problem?

I never understand why if the system is so perfect, then why even post in a forum of people that you claim are lying or complaining for no reason? Why even bother? Either you seek conflict and arguments or you have doubts deep down about what you've believed all of your life. Think about that.

Oh that's just Grouchy. Don't mind him. He took that Blue pill along time ago.But yeah this is just another example of how screwed up and crooked the legal system has become. It has to end sooner or later. Maybe an investigation at the Federal level would bring a much needed change to Terre Haute.

See. The troll is getting to see the results of their work. It is apparent the OP is the same person that hates Phil Adler. Pretty pathetic.

95% corrupt!!!!! Really? I bet you think they all have lunch together and make deals. The real verdict is made at the Saratoga!!!!!

Stupid people like you, the ones that are always a victim, help me realize how well I have it.

Another profile guess. You are morbidly obese, smoke, post on facebook how your life sucks and you are going to get that school principle because he isn't treating your kid nice, and you go to Jiffy Mart 4 times a day for a 60 oz mountain dew. Did I get it?

Spewing words you heard on TV? It's obvious you have no idea what Leftist encompasses. I've never been called a Leftist before and it made us all laugh.
I'm all for education if it's combined with common sense and reality.
What other reasons would someone have to be in the courtroom aside from those I stated, unless you are just nosy?
As for defending corruption, if you read that in my post your reading skills need work.
It boils down to this, every citizen has an obligation to obey the rules of law and society. Otherwise there would be complete chaos. From the sound of your rants this is your goal. Your idealistic romanticism won't hold water in the real world.
Go back to class, mature and get some life experience before you profess to know it all.
Every system could use improvement and every locale has some problems with police, judicial and governmental. Not saying it should be tolerated but power is corrupt and it happens in every society. It very definitely is not just Terre Haute.
If you feel it needs changed, then run for office. If you really have all the answers you will be a hero. If you are just like the rest you will be ridiculed the way you do others.

Lol how come these forums always get way off topic?
@More shenanigans - you shouldn't let some ones odd views get to you. You've got a point on a few things but don't give the regulars/trolls gas money if you know what I mean because they will always reply with even more insanity.

@Grouchy =- No offense but you are kinda red as USSR type of red going by your posts on other topics. With all the talk about how you want more government and all that.
When shenanigans said "lefty" it shows that he 's still suffering under they old false right-left paradigm.
Seems to me that your are another one who thinks in black in white where it's either a "safe" corrupt police state or anarchy and chaos with no happy media or responsibility in between.

Terre Haute IS corrupt from top to bottom. Always has been. It's amazing how when the OP airs his concerns he gets called names and talked down to. As This is a time of life when we are supposed to be fighting terrorists judges robe or not. Try to put yourself in anothers shoes sometimes when your not in your officers uniform. You may be amazed at the results...

Nope, not law enforcement and not Red either. I just believe we have an obligation to obey rules or change them by peaceful and lawful methods. Chaos and anarchy will not fix the problems that this nation has.
Time has proven that a disparate goal isn't always the answer either. I might add that I am thoroughly sick of criminals having more rights than the law abiding citizen. Parents have done a serious misdeed by allowing Jr to think he's wonderful when he spreading his diaper filling all over the walls. That attitude carries over to real grown up life. It often creates criminals who rule the average citizen through fear or aggression.
I am heartbroken though, apparently you have not read every single post I've written. I have stated more than once that I feel we are OVERregulated and that it has hurt local businesses and citizens as well. That overregulation has hurt the nation too. Small time entrepreneurs built the backbone of American economy. Try starting a little business nowadays, you'll be regulated out of breaking even.

Terre Haute has gone from a decent small town to a big city wannabee. The citizens are self absorbed and rude for the most part. It has lost what few good qualities it possessed. The infrastructure is pathetic and there is no support for responsible homeowners or the hardworking individual.
Yes the governing body and their methods are questionable, there are some law enforcement personnel and judicial officials that should go and the "that's just the way things are" attitude needs to go. But you can't do it with a viscious verbal onslaught. You do it at the polls. Instead of slinging mud after the election, go out and dig up the manure while they are campaigning. It could make a difference. Another big problem is you can't get a decent person to run for office.
