Anyone live in Vidor? I have heard that it is a very bad place to live? Alot of drugs...

Vidor has a reputation, I believe they are trying very hard to clean it up. I wouldnt want to live there and I don't. I have lived in many states as in cities and it is not for me. Maybe not for you. To be completely honest, what city doesnt have drugs or crime?

Very True noname. It seems no matter where you go there is no gettng away from the drugs and crime anymore. I was just curious as I have a friend who wants to move to Texas and she had heard of Vidor.

Soulprizm.. don't confuse your life with the good people who live their. You need to stop looking around your own surroundings before you write anything. Vidor has had a reputation in the past, however, they are doing a lot to clean it up. It is ignorant people like you who bring it down.

First off I am from Vidor and I have to admitt that I am proud of it. Yes, I have all of my teeth before you ask. I am a college educated woman and I am not anything like the trailer trash, bare foot, pregnant pill poppin hoes who live off the government that you, Soulprizm, are so ignorantly discribing. There are people in every town that could be lumped into the catogry that you are saying. It is not just Vidor becase people like that are everywhere. Obviously you have never met anyone from Vidor or you would know that your assumptions of the people there are totally incorrect. It is sad to see that here in 2008 there are still people who believe in the things of the past. I was not around when the things that made Vidor famous were being played out and I can almost bet that most of yall weren't either but I am here to tell you that it is not like that now and it is a very wonderful place to live and raise a family. People who believe in lumping people into a catogory just because of where they live are ignorant and obviously uneducated to the surrounding enviornment of their neighboring Texas cities. I wish you a trip to Vidor to see what wonderful people who live there and there is a spectrum of all different social classes, races and people there who get along. If they have put the past behind them and strive for a better future shouldn't someone who is not in the situation do the same?

PS Thank you Frank18 for the kind words about my hometown. It is hard to get people out of sterotyping when that is what they have heard all their lives, like Soulprizm. You are right everyone there is trying very hard to shed light on the wonderful place they call home so people will see that that is really just small town USA with family oriented church going people.

Trust me I have run into people like you my whole life and you don't hurt my feelings because I understand the simple fact that you just don't know better. I have had terrible experiences in many places because of the color of my skin or the gender that GOD chose me to be but I do not take that out on every egotistical man or someone of a different race. You see everyone is different and its people like you who get stuck on one thing and can not let someone else prove to you that we are better than what you previously / currently believe. If you want to call me bubba and tell me to go back to my little job thats fine.. doesn't bother me one bit because you know nothing about me or my job. I have a very respected job and work for a great firm so your petty remarks hold no value for me. If you want to sit on your ass all day doing nothing on the internet thats not my business that is yours. Anyway you are talking about me when you are attacking the place I call home. You tell me to grow some skin and I am telling you to grow some pride. Have pride in where your from and the things you do. Take pride in your surrounding neighbors and stop just focusing on one place because you had a bad experience there.
