The police officers were wrong. The prisoner should be in the morgue. Please take these officers to the range and teach them to shoot immediatly on this situation. I 'm ashamed that our officers cannot eliminate this problem in a fast expediant way
Your an ex cop right? How dare you second guess the decisions of cops on the street! Were you there? NO! You have no idea what was going on and why the Officer didn't fire. How did you like it when people second guessed your decisions on the streets? My guess us that you were just another cop who said, "I could have done that better" or "if I was in that situation I would have done this". You are so removed from modern day police work! You wouldn't even have the qualifications to be a cop in this day in age. Do us all a favor and please shut up!

So your a cop, "No way"? You seem pretty enflamed.

If I recall the story correctly, the chase was through a mostly residential neighborhood. Maybe you would go through with "guns a blazin'", but I for one, am glad the APD did not!

Nice show of restraint APD; in the LITERAL line of fire!

I was responding to John Lewis who said he would have fired..... I am merely defending the Officers choice not to fire. My issue is with an ex cop who thinks he can second guess current cops. Yes, I am a cop! I was there and these guys did a great job. All Officers involved in the apprehension of this JA were heroic!

I misinterpreted your post (I'm good at that) and apologize.

Your "beef" with Mr. Lewis is certainly not my battle to fight. Still, it saddens me that retired cops are taking shots at those of you on the force. Times change and, therefore, tactics must as well. Retired cops should understand that.

Keep fightin' the good fight for our AKR. Most of us on here know you are understaffed and doing the best you can!

Lastly, though we don't always post the most PC stuff on the Internet, I think I can speak for most of us and say we are glad to see the APD and the surronding PDs checking in on this site. We appreciate all your hard work!

He's lucky the Akron Police were chasing him. Almost any other agency would've put the young guy down. It's good to hear that an agency apprehended a violent offender without utilizing excessive force.
"....a violent offender..." You said it. So what's the point of him not being dead? Oh let me guess, he has something to contribute to this society, right? Stay in Comptom you god damned liberal!

I AGREE THEY ARE ALL BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN, NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT, GOD BLESS THEM ALL. DON'T BE TOO HARD ON THE OLD GUYS, THEY ARE SET IN THEIR WAYS AND THEY WERE BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN TOO.
