"the state is 38th nationwide in the number of working age adults with at least an associate degree"

This is a major turnoff to employers in Ohio thinking about leaving and outside Ohio, thinking about coming in. This is a major reason our economy is in the mess it is now.

There are unfilled jobs in Ohio, because Ohioans don't have the skills to fill them. Training our people is a slam-dunk in terms of rejuvenating the economy. We need easy access to vocational schools and colleges.

If we dramatically increase the number of residents who have a vocational certificate, associate's, or bachelors degree, it will have two effects: 1) Ohio will become very attractive to employers. 2) Invidivual Ohioans will have better jobs and financial security.

''Many medical schools have more than one campus and NEOUCOM can, too.''

Removing the university presidents from the board may actually push more of NEOUCOM(P) towards Akron with the multiple campus initiative.

I'm pretty sure, thanks to past history, that associate's and bachelor's degree programs are already within the 30 mile distance that Fingerhut wants.

U R correct. he pulls down $200K a year and hasn't come up with a novel idea yet. Each univeristy has been working on a Center of Excellence for decades. Polymers at UA, Journalism st KSU, Fashion Design at KSU, Engineering at UA, Liquid Crystals at KSU. Give me a break. Most of the Community Colleges of work towards a B. S. already.

Maybe because many get thier degree here and go outside of the state fo a job. Obilary pomised us jobs, where r they ? Maybe if we just keep all the Federal Taxes we pay in the state and stop subsidizing California, New York. Arkansas and Alabama, that would be a start.
