Enough with the "teen". He's an adult who deserves adult consequences for his actions.

A mug shot would be nice.

I think it should be "Alma Street," not "Elma Street."

I love how Chancellor and the Beacon refer to this piece of garbage as a "Teen". He's an adult. Oh, and another thing. I was going to vomit if I were to see the word "Allegedly" one more time in this story. I guess you could say Carl Chancellor is "Allegedly" a reporter and that the Beacon is "Allegeldly" a newspaper.

This was an ambush, this JA waited for the Officer to turn the corner and then fired. I am glad that the Officers are OK, because this easily could have ended tragically.

Your comments about Mr. Chancellor's article are not well taken. First of all, a 19 year old is a teen. I am surprised that you did not note the "teen" in "nineteen". I think most readers are aware that a person can a teen and adult simultaneously. Second, in the United States, a person charged is always an alleged perpetrator. I am also surprised that you are unafamiliar with the innocent-until-proven-guilty principle. I do regret that the word "allegedly" nauseates you because I am sure it will continue to be used.

Sadly, you mistake accurately describing a person's age and supporting the Consitution as some kind of advocacy for wrongdoing. If you do not like our country, you can alway go to a more totalitarian one where guilt is presumed before a fair trial.

Give me a break. He is a teen by definition, but the way the word "teen" is used in this article is definitely used to infer that this "teen" = "A poor misguided young soul who strayed from the righteous path and was fortunately spared his life by the brutal police".

When I first saw the headline I assumed they were referring to a juvenile, as most readers probably did.

Another writer above said "...an officer was killed in this same situation..." - Many, many officers have been killed in similar situations and thank God it wasn't one from Akron this time. Praise the Akron Police Department officers at the scene for their courage under fire in yet another deadly force situation by a loser who has no value for human life, to include his own.

Once again, why not write:
"Wanted Fugitive Shoots at Police"
"Convicted Felon Shoots at Police"
"Man Shoots at Police"

All of these are factually accurate, just like "Teen Shoots at Police." The writer's use of "Teen" show's his (and the ABJ's) bias against the police. "Teen" minimizes the actions of this scumbag. Until this entire city stops supporting the criminals and starts supporting the police, we will continue to see more robberies and shootings.

Cloverline, you have obviously never "allegedly" paid the hood tax to one of Akron's "teens."
