real nice comments coming from people that don't know any of these boys. I've known Jeremy and Jerome for almost 4 years.. They in fact have 2 loving parents.. I don't understand why many of the people here comment on the skin color of the people involved assumed they were "wanna be thug" white kids and when the boys were found to be black caused more of an issue making racist remarks ect.

It's very sad to me that in these times that race is still such a big issue and people just assume that young black males are prone to drugs and or violence.

It also some what scares me that someone would go through the length and hassle to locate these boys on myspace and post them here. What is that saying about you?

Newsday along with any other form of media tends to elaborate a story, leave out information or dwell on the worst of a story, I'm sure there is alot more to this story then what was written about. It is how they attract readers and rile people up. & in this case as well as every other story I have read that people have commented on it worked.

I'm sure I will get a lot of negative comments back & I really don't care. Welcome to cyber arguments. Everyone has an opinion and you are entitled to that. People fight, it happens I'm not saying it's right or that anything can justify that. But should it be turned into a race issue? Should you blame a TV station? Assume bad parenting or schooling without knowing the facts? Search the internet for any bit of information you can find about a person?

You contradict yourself. You see that when it was thought that the perps were white, they were criticized as being white thugs- but when the truth came out that they were black, what, are we suddenly not allowed to refer to their skin color?(Even though we leveled the same criticisms when we thought they were white!)
Maybe if people like you would worry more about the violent and larcenous actions that people like these "fine young boys" commit (against there own FRIEND, even!) instead of worrying about the semantics of the criticism, this crap might not happen so often. All to well you defend the crooks, I guess for no other reason than the fact that they are black- while I didn't hear one word of sympathy or concern from you about their poor vicitm, who was victimized by these cretins in his own home, because these lovely boys don't even have the decencey of an animal!
And no it is not about their skin color! It is their culture- and in this case, members of that culture just happen to be identifiable by their skin color. A culture from which 90% of the violent crime in this couintry originates.
And here you are- defending the crooks- even though what they did was inexcusable and animalistic, and there is no question as to their guilt....and if they were white, YOU would be condemning them, too! But I guess in your book, it is O-K for blacks to commit crimes against whites.

Please go back and re-read what I wrote. Never once did I defend the actions of the 3 young men who assaulted the other boy and I wrote that there is no justifying their actions. I was stating that people like yourself should not make assumptions about people based on their race or location. It is not ok for anyone to assault anyone no matter the race, gender, religion or community in which they live.

There have been many fights, robberies and incidents in the Connetquot area much worse then this before and while I attended this school and lived in this area, but it was never in the media because nothing else of interest was going on at the time. If last years incident involving the 2 boys who allegedly plotted to kill students and staff, the substitute teacher who was accused of sexual harassment and the numerous other incidents involving Connetquot students or people in the community were not highly publicized this incident would have never received any media attention.

& funny you mention Wyandanch and Hempstead I have lived in both of those towns as well as Central Islip, Holbrook and Shirley. The activity in those areas have nothing to do with the ethic backgrounds of the people that live there but more so due to the poverty and low incomes of families and lack of education.

Besides the fact that your grammar and spelling is terrible your statements do not make any sense and are not based on fact. For as long as I can remember Ronkonkoma as well as but not much as Oakdale, Bohemia and Sayville have always had black, asian, hispanic, caribbean, middle eastern as well as white people living there. When did drugs and crime become a "black" thing? It's more like a human thing. If you are going to make a statement as strong as you did at least separate fact from your opinion.

The media is always going to bring out the worse in anything, again thats what holds the interest of the reader or viewer and the general public is always going to have something negative or positive to say about it but how it's said is what is going to make all the difference. I don't appreciate and am quite disgusted when people blame a specific group of people whether it be a race, culture or life style for the down fall of a community. Thinking like that is not accomplishing anything expect bringing the community down further.

These are my opinions based on facts from what I see in my community. I don't feel the need to defend myself. But I am not "trash" by any means. I am well educated, respected among my peers and elders, hold 2 jobs within my community and my race has nothing to do with it. And yes I do care about these "cretins" you speak of along with many other people in my community regardless of their race. Do we belong in the towns you mentioned? We belong in any town we seem fit, from Hempstead to the Hamptons and every where in between.

Should cage the animals and let them kill each other off. If someone had a beef with the dude, why would more than one go to settle it. Gimme a break. These animals always roam in packs and never fight fair. There's not one thing they can say about racism because they make their own bed!

Don't get me wrong... I applaud whenever a white wigga or wegro gets his a$$ handed to him. I am ashamed to live in Ronkonkoma sometimes. There animals hang out behind Meat Farms and smoke their future away trying to be gangstas. Makes me laugh. Their parents need a good beaten too!

I would love to see how these animals treat their own kids when they grow up. That's if they even stick around to raise them!
