(October 8, 2008)- Today, Tiger Schulmann’s Mixed Martial Arts of Smithtown NY announced that it will be hosting a Free Bully Prevention Seminar for children and parents of the community. The event will be held on Saturday Oct 18 at Tiger Schulmann’s of Smithtown, located in the Village Commons Shopping Center in Smithtown at 1:30pm.

The seminar will focus on teaching children basic bully prevention skills through interactive skits, demonstrations and crowd participation for both children and adults, all conducted by the black belt instructors of Tiger Schulmann’s Mixed Martial Arts. These fun and educational activities will teach children how to avoid and discourage bullying, what to do when encountering a bullying situation, how to communicate bullying situations to teachers and family, how to handle physical confrontations and how to be confident in a non-aggressive way. Parents will also be coached on how to identify signs that their child is being bullied, how to keep the lines of communication open on the subject of bullying and will be provided information on bullying resources.

“Being bullied can be devastating to a child. And out of embarrassment, most kids never tell their parents about it,” said Deshi Leonelli head instructor of Tiger Schulmann’s in Smithtown NY.“No child should have to be subjected to the fear and trauma associated with bullying. Our seminars are specifically designed to empower kids to be able to stand up for themselves, to not be afraid and to be confident enough to repel and discourage bullying.”

This free Bully Prevention Seminar is part of the Tiger Schulmann’s CHILDSAFEsm Program, established in 1992 as a program designed to teach awareness about child safety in our communities, and to encourage communication between parents and children about these vital issues.

Parents should call Tiger Schulmann’s of Smithtown at smithtown@tsk.com for more information and to reserve space for their child in this important free seminar.

Well let's see: The kids who get bullied can not do anything to prevent bullying; The kids who are bullies will not be attending the seminar!

The best way to prevent bullying would probably be to keep your kids away from these guys who like to prance around their pajamas with 12 year-old boys!

Is someone who bullies kids fit to teach a seminar on anti-bullying? Go sit and observe a couple of classes with kids who have ADHD or other learning disabilities, or perhaps are not complying with the militant ridgidness of this particular instructor and see who is the BULLY! It is a good seminar, try another location one without a armchair instructor! bawawawawa
