1 God looked around his Garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best. He saw your path was difficult, he closed you tired eyes, He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to fly. When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain, We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again. You've left us precious memories, your love will be our guide, You live on through your family, you're always by our side. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you on the day God called you home... *Rest in Peace* |

1 You have crossed the line by publishing the picture of Jayson's mother. Some picutres should not be taken and this is one. My prayers and thoughts are with Jayson's family |

2 I have to agree with 'PM Mom' as well, the pictures of his family are highly inappropriate. I would say the one of his father and brother should not be up as well. I know the family very well, and I was handling this whole ordeal pretty well....until I saw those pictures. They should not be published in this article. |

2 Yes, it's a tragedy, my sympathies to the family. As for the photos: yeah, they're shocking stills of people in the throes of grief. However, since all of the previous photos taken only of cars at accident scenes don't appear to slow down the reckless drivers, perhaps a glimpse of the peripheral damage done to the people who loved them will drive home the point. You may think you look cool, until you die in a crumpled up tin can. |

1 I think your anger is misplaced. Wordy gurdy was simply making a point about reckless drivers, it doesn't mean they thought Jayson was one. wordygurdy may have just chosen their words incorrectly. My thoughts and prayers to Jayson's friends and family. |

2 There's one in every crowd. Do you get off on insulting a dead kid? This was a responsible 18 year old kid paying his own way through college. Save your whining for people who care. Show a little sensitivity for the kid's friends and family before you start preaching,- without even knowing the details I might add. |

2 Please God, I'm only 17 The day I died was an ordinary school day. How I wish I had taken the bus. But I was too cool for the bus. I remember how I wheedled the car out of Mom. "Special favor," I pleaded. "All the kids drive." When the 2:50 bell rang, I threw all my books in the locker. I was free until 8:40 tomorrow morning! I ran to the parking lot, excited at the thought of driving a car and being my own boss. Free! It doesn't matter how the accident happened. I was goofing off -- going too fast -- taking crazy chances. But I was enjoying my freedom and having fun. The last thing I remember was passing an old lady who seemed to be going awfully slow. I heard the deafening crash and felt a terrible jolt. Glass and steel flew everywhere. My whole body seemed to be turning inside out. I heard myself scream. Suddenly I awakened; it was very quiet. A police officer was standing over me. Then I saw a doctor. My body was mangled. I was saturated with blood. Pieces of jagged glass were sticking out all over. Strange that I couldn't feel anything. Hey, don't pull that sheet over my head! I can't be dead. I'm only 17. I've got a date tonight. I'm supposed to grow up and have a wonderful life. I haven't lived yet. I can't be dead! Later I was placed in a drawer. My folks had to identify me. Why did they have to see me like this? Why did I have to look at Mom's eyes when she faced the most terrible ordeal of her life? Dad suddenly looked like an old man. He told the man in charge, "Yes, he is my son." The funeral was a weird experience. I saw all my relatives and friends walk toward the casket. They passed by, one by one, and looked at me with the saddest eyes I've ever seen. Some of my buddies were crying. A few of the girls touched my hand and sobbed as they walked away. Please -- somebody -- wake me up! Get me out of here! I can't bear to see my mom and dad so broken up. My grandparents are so racked with grief they can hardly walk. My brothers and sisters are like zombies. They move like robots. In a daze, everybody. No one can believe this. And I can't believe it, either. Please don't bury me! I'm not dead! I have a lot of living to do! I want to laugh and run again. I want to sing and dance. Please don't put me in the ground. I promise if you give me one more chance, God, I'll be the most careful driver in the whole world. All I want is one more chance! Please, God, I'm only 17! A parent's worst nightware, family and friends that are devastated. My sincerest condolences to all of you. |

2 Perhaps one parent out there will see it and have a long talk with their child. We see high school and college kids die almost every weekend on Long Island! Maybe all of you parents should think about that mother and how you would feel in her place. Maybe you should take your young driver to this child's wake! Our kids need to have respect for the road. Speed kills!!! And I am completely certain that the majority of these "lost control" in broad daylight crashes are actually "lost control while texting" crashes. Talk to your child today and remind them to be careful every time they get in the car! Whenever I see one of these crashes in the paper I poiht it out out my 13 year old - teach them now! |
