I had bladder surgery with vaginal mesh several years ago and I have had one problem after another. Anyone else who can relate? It has been pure misery dealing with the after affects. Please share. I had hysterectomy at GVMC and bladder sling and I was in and out of that place less than 24 hrs. I couldn't even tell you what that place looked like, a nurse's name or what my room looked like. Really, sent me home way too soon. Don't even remember seeing a doctor after surgery. Surreal!

Some people would argue that there are different issues associated today with vaginal meshes. Many people who have vaginal mesh implanted on them have complained about experiencing alleged pains, infections, and vaginal bleeding. In fact, some of them have already filed a lawsuit. Do you think legal actions are necessary for your situation? You may want to check http://www.vaginalmeshlawsuit.com/ and be more informed.

A friend of mine went through a mesh sling surgery for urinary incontinence. Initially, it worked wonders for her, she was able to go on with her daily routine without worrying of urine leakages. However, some time after surgery, she started feeling pain in and around her pelvis, which gradually worsened over time. She was advised to undergo removal surgery to have the mesh removed. I suggest you talk to your doctor and check what he or she may recommend. There are also articles at http://www.bladderslingrecall.us/ that have more information about this. They could be a good reference for you.

Rina, thank you so very much. I have seen so many docs. I had a revision due to lack of rejection of the mesh. Later, after more problems, I visited another OB/GYN who wanted to do surgery, then left Morgantown. Yet another OB/GYN, doesn't want to fool with it, not their expertise. Yet, I am still having trouble. I will check out your site. Thank you so much.

I was with my cousin when she had the surgery where they used the mesh. She has had pain from that day till now. It has broken apart, moved around inside her, she has continuous infections. She is a young woman and her life has drastically changed for the worse. She has suffered unneccessarily. The FDA had made statements about that mesh before her surgery took place, but neither the doctor or the hospital had removed it from the shelves. The ads on TV are telling the truth when they mention all the side affects. Please call those numbers and they will help you. Because of this mesh, women have suffered mentally, physically and in every other way. Marriages have fallen apart. IT is a shame that something like that mesh was ever approved for use.

Witness, sorry I am just now seeng your site and I am sorry about your cousin. I, also, have had trouble for years now. Sad thing, once a doc puts it in, it is almost impossible to find another doc who knows anything about it or wants to even get involved with another doctor's mess. Mind me asking who did it? I understand if you don't want to say. Can you tell me, how, who or where found out what was wrong and how they knew it eroded internally? I mean what kind of test do you have to have done to find out if your problems are indeed from the mesh? I have had repair and meds, etc...but know of no one who wants involved. thank u

It was done at Greenbrier Valley Hospital. Dr. Flowers was the ob/gyn. After the surgery had time to start healing, my cousin was in severe pain. It was not normal pain for the surgery. She started running a fever and stayed sick. She would be on antibiotics and go off them, just to have to be put back on. The mesh did not hold things in place. It could be seen protruding from her body. It was awful. She was sent to Morgantown. TO be seen by several specialists. Her life is now running to doctors to try to keep this mesh from doing further damage. I do not have the names of some doctors that will deal with this mesh, but there are a few out there. There are sites other than Topix that have alot of valuable info to help ladies with this problem. There are some numbers to call also for a few specialists I believe. Good luck to you.

Witness, if you happen to talk to your cousin, who you please try to find name of doc in Morgantown. I saw a Dr. Sze, who wanted to do surgery. I went for a second opinion before deciding to do it and now he is gone??? Don't know where either. Thank you. Yeah, Flowers was my doc too.
