This is a very large project. I've been told that once the papers are signed they will start hanging new cable. The company has their own wire crew but will hire local folks for jobs such a flagging traffic etc. As per our agreement they have one year or less to complete the project. They have assured me it won't take that long. The new owner will be at the public meeting. I'm waiting on the lawyer and cpa to get back with me to set the date for the meeting. I hope to have the meeting before Thanksgiving. The meeting has to be advertised several successing weeks in the paper. Marty

It isn't Suddenlink. Your informant is full of beans. As soon as the contract is signed I will tell everyone the name of the company. Marty Smith

you posted on Oct. 12th the following:

As of 3 PM today the RTC has a signed Letter of Intent with Vial Communications for purchase of all RTC equipment. The next step is a final draft of a contract and it's signing. The attorney for RTC will draft a legal Notice for the paper advising of a public meeting. There will also be a letter to all currect subscribers advising of the public meeting. Once the contract is signed the allmost Eight Million upgrade of Vital in this area will begin. Vital Communications will move there billing office to Ronceverte from NC.

So is this not the name of the new company from NC that is purchasing the RTC?

Yes, they are the company. Thanks for reposting my earlier post. I almost didn't say anything on Topix at all with some of the folks on here just wanting to stir things up. Thanks again, Marty Smith

Get off Marty Smith's back. He has nothing to do with the TV cable now. It was sold and is billed by VITAL COMMUNICATIONS. If you have questions or comments call them. The toll free number is 1-877-626-4499. I called to inquire why we lost channels and was told they will be back soon. Certainly hope so. I miss ESPN2 and Hallmark. Thanks.

i just spoke with Vital. they have no idea when or if ESPN2 will return. They were very vague as to the reason why. I tried to press for an answer and the lady told me she basically didn't know why we don't have ESPN2.I think they didn't pay the fee to the provider.
Hallmark is supposed to be a receiver issue??? ESPN sound may be fixed today.

Once the contract is signed the allmost Eight Million upgrade of Vital in this area will begin. Vital Communications will move there billing office to Ronceverte from NC. Ronceverte will be the headend/hub for this part of southern WV. Our cable will be state of the art with DVR capability. You will be able to freeze live programming and watch when you wish. The equipment was delivered today to bring in channel 4. Vital's technician with Gary will start that upgrade tomorrow. The upgrade will consist of fiber from Ronceverte to Meadow Bridge, Union and all the way to Peterstown. Ronceverte will be the hub and payment center. This is a good thing for our area. We will have the best cable system in the area. They will be installing the latest technology. The headend equipment is a million and a half dollars alone. We will have several options including pay per view with all the bells and whistles. All of the details of the sale will be made at the public meeting. More to come as details such as new programming is made available. Marty Smith, RTC Board President/
We lost HBO sometime in the last few days. That was really the only reason I kept this podunk service. I'm switching to DirecTV pronto. Someone posted something about this being out of RTC's hands now that the company is sold and gave an 800 number. That's bogus. Marty Smith told us in this forum that RTC has a signed contract and we would have the "end all, be all" of able within a year. If Vital isn't upholding their end of the deal, RTC needs to stand up for us.

The number that was given for Vital Communications is NOT bogus. It is i-877-626-4499. NOTE (877) NOT (800). Read carefully before you get on her griping. And you may recieve HBO again for the extra fee of $16.95. READ your statement from Vital Communications.

High tech hub, funny. Also very funny that you haven't received an answer. Look up Vital on topix and see the GREAT service that others have been receiving. Atleast with Ronceverte TV we didn't lose any channels.

jokes on us, instead of moving forward, we have been going backwards, there is but 1 truck here of Vital Cable, if your gonna pay 50 bucks a month why not go with directv or dish both are so much better...at least HBO YOU GET 9 STATIONS FOR 12.95
