First of all you need to know the situation firsthand before or tell it right. My issue is I worked there since 1989 and have done many jobs for them sometimes 2 or 3 at a time and Thought Mike Anderson was more fair than that, yes I had surgery in Jan 2009 and had some major back pain as an after affect but never took it while on the job, new to taking this medication I did not realize the medication is in your system, just because I did'nt take during work and yes I accidently drifted off for 5 to 10 minutes and may I remind u i was not taking care of the resients at the time, yes I would have expected to recieve suspension and a reprimand, but to be fired for my first write up was totally mindboggling to me, a few months before I know for a fact that a nurse intentially took a pillow and cover and went to sleep for an hour or more on more than 1 night on the clock, and 2 nurses wrote her up and guess what she continued and was fired later for a unrelated incident. So yes that does make me angry, your right I should not have drifted off, but I am human. In the time I worked there I have done amny jobs for the Brier such as CNA, restoreative, activity assist., Enviromental Director, and Activity Director, and in between all of these jobs if they were short cnas I would work shifts, even months at a time to help them out, and by the way I beat them in unemployment and recieved it for 6 months, could have recieved it for 2 years but wanted to work, I now work at Springfield and Iam very happy and make good money, thanx to Angel W. for believing in me and knowing my skills and giving me credit for that, cause she worked at the brier as a DON. I still have a lot of support from th Brier employees and thanks to those guys who understand where I come from and my feelings. So goodbye Brier I have moved on to a bigger and better support system. Just for ur info I had never took this medication before and have not since. Other employees at the Brier have gad similar problems with meds and continue to wok there, so that leaves me to believe that me being fired had a bigger agenda and that was money, I had worked my way up and someone I had trained would cost them less I am not stupid, it has become a learning experience that we are all expendable to save money.

lmao. just because u got fired for running your mouth on TOPIX doesnt mean you know shit about whats going on at the brier @ night. or much less while you were employed by them. you were never there.

ok i was not in any way trying to start trouble with my last post, i was simply letting family of residrnts know they have been in the past, not a professional facility and resident care isnt proper b/c of insufficient staffing. i know this b/c i have had family there in the past. it was posted to help, not hurt. plz grow up and stop hatin!

Yeq right seems like the facility is doing a pretty good job of taking out the trash!!staffing is a problem because employees of a few that chose to lay out drunk instead of coming to work, but they are working on that!!ain't that right foxy lady??

sorry u got caught sleeping at work it happens to tje best of us keep your head up and if you get sleepy at work again I've found the best place to catch a little shuteye is the bathroom

wow. the brier has staffing problems simply because of 2 reasons. 1. people do not want to do the work that is needed of them. Example, taking care of another human being ( not related )non-stop. cleaning them, talking to them, listening to them, crying with them. bathing ,wiping,feeding, turning someone elses family member and having to do it 5 days a week and 16 hours of the day at times. 2. the ones doing this work, coming daily and doing a good job at it, are not apperciated as they should be. Heaven knows if you end up with a cold *which happens a lot working with those who are usually sick* and you have to miss a few days due to this. Or something else happens causing you to miss. They will sit there and add this to their fires and build it up as high as it will go, and then fire you for it. They dont sit and realize wow, things happen. but this person is a damn good worker. We need them.
no one wants to work their asses off not to be appericated. it puts everything you do questionable.The aides are under paid and by no means are thanked by their employers enough. They are lucky to have 2 days off in a row and a weekend a month. the nurses have every other weekend off and are paid decently.

but the care at the brier is not as you speak of, the majority of the staff actually does care for their residents. They care for them as if it were their family. The work is something not everyone is cut out for and it takes a special person to be able to do so.
