Do you approve of John Noak as Mayor?

#3) My homework is done with the dollars I spend eating out. Never am I hungry for lunch and say, "Holy crap, what would really fill the void is a greasy overpriced concoction from Chili's or Applebee's right now. Or maybe I can go to Mongo's or Stone City and catch an STD from the barstool." This town is a dining desert.
Joliet, Bolingbrook, Plainfield and yes, even Lemont are better options to spend money on dining and non-chain establishments...including retail.
If this town wants to be known as the land of 700,000 sq ft warehouses, we're well on our way
You are just another person who wants to gloss right over the facts even when they are put right in front of them.

And yes being know for those warehouses is a good thing. They create a great deal of revenue without the need for much service.

What facts am I glossing over?

All I know is at the end of the day, my home value gets lower and lower. The village is loaded with big shiny warehouses that create little more than increased truck traffic and nobody wants to move here.

People want to come where there's something to do. That's not Romeovile. I don't see how a change in leadership could be all that horrible

Tell me the name of one warehouse in Romeoville that pays well! They are good for revenue, but terrible for the employees

No he doesn't set the wages. But he is in talks and negotiations with the companies BEFORE they decide to locate here. So it is at that time that he can lay down stipulations.
Having workers getting menial wages doesn't help the village prosper bc the workers will not have money to pit back into the economy.
It's real simple. Real simple.

Noak is a joke. And he has a full time gig with a pension? Must be nice to have no responsibility to taxpayers.

I just read about him on LinkedIn and he's never had a real job in his life. And I'm paying him to lead me.

All true.

Noak is way under qualified and in over his head. He is 100% reliant on others around him to get anything done. Not saying he is a bad guy or a bad person - just not the guy for this job.

It's too bad that so many are so narrow minded and only see that he defeated Mc Michael in the election. That takes nothing away from his not being a good fit for mayor.

Hopefully a much better suited and qualified opponent will step up for the next election.

Wow you really are an idiot. The mayor's job was voted as full time long before the current mayor was even in office. Also about half of all the employees in the village make more than the mayor. And the pension is no different than any other municipal employee. For your information Roger Claar makes twice as much.

No "responsibility"? Your just like to stir things up. The mayor has been elected three times by the voters. There is no great "responsibility" than that.

What's a "real" job then buddy? So actually having background in government is a bad thing? Last time I checked there are lots and lots of people that live in this community that have jobs that you would label as "not real jobs". Also do you think every job the mayor has ever had is posted on LinkedIn? You must be some crazy Mongo supporter that just can't get over that you lost.

And what qualifications do you have to determine if someone is qualified? You just another anonymous topix poster with a grudge that has no idea what their talking about or better yet a disgruntled employee with an axe. Either way your wrong. The mayor is more qualified than most of the mayors out there. Please give a few examples of who you think is more qualified and why? I'd love to see you explanation. The mayor has one of the best records out there today. He is invited to speak on municipal topix why state and national organizations all the time. So you know better than they do huh? All these groups that specialize in local governments are all just wrong? So if your so right give us some concrete examples.

Also every mayor (in fact every official) in government depends on their employees that's how its done. There is no secret about that.

I'm no Mongo supporter. But a career politician is never a good thing. All I know is I see Romeoville government waste all around me and nobody asks questions and Noak collects.

This mayor has made no strides in making Romeoville a desirable place for people to move to.

You are so completely clueless is sickness me. You probably have never even been to a meeting in your life. I see articles every week how things have been improving in Romeoville over the past few years and so does the majority of the community. Stop living in your parents basement and get a clue already.

And stop using terms like "career politician", it makes you look stupid and unable to actually find anything real to complain about. The term didn't work for Mongo and its not working for you. Someone that has worked in government as an employee isn't a "career politician" by definition. There are lots of people in our community that work for all levels of government and you insult all of them when you say something like that. And it has been pointed out here on topix many times before - you have no idea what other jobs the current mayor has had in his life. Just because you stalk him on LinkedIn doesn't mean you know everything.

I've had generations of my family serve in government, but they had real jobs too. They did their government work as a SIDE JOB. They didn't do a part time job and collect a full time salary and benefits. But who cares when it's other peoples money, right? Might as well live large

You are completely hopeless and have no idea what your talking about. There is no point in correcting again and again because you simply won't listen. Keeping living in your warped world while the rest of us keep moving forward.

This "ville" cries at every comment that doesn't polish up Noak. Something fishy going on here. Ville is probobly another one that gets their balls polished by Noak's little beard.

Noak is a friggin' tool. Spooge slurpers like Ville will never, ever see it or begin to admit it until someone else gets into the mayor's office and actually leads instead of tries to put a nice coat of paint on others people's work and to to get the credit.

You really say nothing in your post.....be specific as to your thoughts and feelings towards Mayor Noak. If you have concrete issues , let's hear them . If you're just mad because he won and someone else lost or because you get nothing personally by having John Noak as Mayor then maybe you should keep these thoughts and feelings to yourself and spend more time working on your own self improvement .
