My daughter is an 8th grader at Lukancic Middle School in Romeoville. She got all dressed up for this event. It was billed as a mini-prom just for the 8th grade students. She came home with stories and pictures on her digital camera that would make people wonder WHO IS RUNNING THIS SCHOOL? There were kids kissing in the lunch room. The dancing was out of control! Girls rubbing their backsides on boys legs. One picture she has is of girls dancing as if they are 22 year old prostitutes. The sickening part of the picture is that the principal is also in the picture looking at the girls dancing. Can a principal be put out by the community? What does it take? Someone help me! Thank the Lord my daughter is done with that school this week.

My question is who on Earth are these parents that have raised children to act this way? SOMEONE had to buy their clothing, SOMEONE has to pay the cable/internet bill where they are exposed to this sort of behavior. PARENTS are a child's number one example people! Here's a thought: HOW ABOUT INSTILLING SOME VALUES IN YOUR CHILDREN PARENTS INSTEAD OF PUTTING IT IN THE HANDS OF THE SCHOOL SYSTEM???? Let's start seening some accountablity-- you reap what you sew.

Are You Kidding - You should release the photos to the media and let the school officials and district superintendant explain this to Channel 7 on camera. You wonder why kids are pregnant at 14 and 15 then. I agree with Concerned. The breeders are not parents and I think they should be sterilized to prevent the scourge of their offspring.

I too agree with the both of you. I am looking into how I can bst use these photos. My daughter does not exactly fit in with this crowd. She is a little less mature than her peers. Maybe I did not do such a great job exposing her to enough in life and maybe I sheltered her a little too much. I think that is what upsets me so much about this behavior and the allowance of the school for this to happen. If this is 8th grade, what is it like for a girl in High School?

'ARE YOU KIDDING': It is nice to know that there are teens that would come home and show their parents pictures they took at a dance. With the way teens are so secretive, I applaud your daughter for showing you. I do not have teens, but there are many in my family, and that dancing is disgusting. I think many adults just accept that type of dancing because they are teens. I do not. If you have a picture of a principal allowing these things to occur, I think Judgement Day was correct in saying take it to the media. This school district sucks. They are failing to academically allow our youth to excel. They can not sit back and allow them to be sexually motivated in school and display such behavior. I am sickened to hear this as I am sure many parents are too. Please alert the media. Someone bigger has to get involved in this. Again, your daughter is a very good person to have made you aware of this.

Thank you for not making me feel like I failed my daughter. I called her into the room and she explained that most of these girls have boyfriends that act like they are in gangs and are always in trouble. I know my daughter is less mature. I wish I could keep her that way. I called Channel 7 and they told me to send them an email.

Thank you for wanting to get this info out in the public. Many parents know this stuff is happening, and will not do anything about it. Whatever their reasons are for not alerting the appropriate people, the problems exist and will continue to exist until one person stands up. I have read many comments on this forum about principals and vice principals that just do not seem to be in their positions for the right reasons. The line has to be drawn somewhere.

I can't say I wouldn't be disturbed by what went on at that dance just as you all are, however taking it to the media?
Really now, just what is to be gained there besides more negative attention.
I'm not sure what the population of that school is but I'd bet there are far more good kids there than those you are referring to.
I would have a tough time being the cause of embarrasing everyone just to make a point of exposing the few.
Should you express your anger to the principal?
You bet you should, but frankly I am sick of people who sit back and encourage one another to fill the media with info that could and should be dealt with directly!
Hold those involved responsible for sure but in a more dignified manner.

You, as many parents may, would take this to the principal and then what. Nothing would happen. No one would know. Please, a more dignified manner? The prinicipal should be acting in a more dignified manner. You may have thought this one through before you typed it up, but you are a little bit screwed up if you really feel this way.

My child goes to JJL and is in the 7th grade. I personally am ECSTATIC that the 8th graders are graduating and getting out of that school. That class has nothing but morons in it. Bullies, drug addicts, drunks. Trouble makers. It's known that the 8th grade graduating class is horrific. Even a teacher commented to me that she was going to retire after having to teach that class last year.

As for your pictures, why not go to the School board before goign to the media? That's the problem with people today--they go directly for the most extreme instead of going through the proper channels. Take the pictures to the next board meeting and then go from there....

Just out of curiosity, why not go to the media? Is it to save the embarrassment to these goofy kids who have no respect for themselves let alone the rest of the kids who are not asking to be subjected to this. Or is it to save the embarrassment to the pathetic parents of these goofy kids. Or is it to save the embarrassment to the principal, who is obviously a moron and should not be a principal. We are talking about VVSD. This school board will not do anything. Even board members will tell you that.

i would hold off on sending these pictures to the media as you are exposing minors on these pictures. unless you have written permission from the parents of these kids for you to publish their kids pictures on national tv you can and will get sued. thats why you have to sign a media consent form every year when you register your kid.

Thank you Unreal,my thoughts exactly!
If one follows the proper channels and gets no results after doing so I may be inclined to agree with more drastic measures but to start with the media is pretty sad.

personally, every night around 10 pm when i drive through town i see this group of children hanging out at the old jewel, dairy queen etc. the girls are dressed like hookers with their daisy dukes and make up, thinking they are dressed to express. god forbit something happens, the parent of these girls are the first ones to cry rape. how can you let your kids go out the house dressed like that ? where are you as a parent if your child (middle school age) is out at 10 pm on a schoolnight and where are the cops ? don't tell me they don't see those kids after curfew when they walk home , passing the squad cars parked at the library or st. andrews every night. start arresting these punks, maybe the parents will pay closer attention to what their kids do. these kids a a nuissance when you try to go to 711 and they are habging out there in everybodys way

Same way at AVM. My son stopped going to the dances.
I was at a dance at IHK and the girls were dancing the same way. it's pretty disgusting.
Thank god I have boys that want nothing to do with the tramps in this town. Sports mean more to them than hooking up with some little girl who has probably humped every other boy in town.
I agree it is the parents. They need to start taking responsbility and know what their kids are up to. Most of the parents could care less as long as the kid is out of their hair for the night...wouldn't want to ruin a good drink night at LA having to deal with being a parent and raising you dang kid.

JUST ME,

I am not the person who is sending the pictures to the media. I do think, however, that the media would not show faces of the idiot teens involved. I do believe the original concern was the principal. Not necessarily the teens. The teens are messed up because of their parents. The principal, on the other hand, should be hung out to dry.

I agree completely it is the school administration that should clamp down but they are probably afraid to have the breeders complain that theirs is an expression of their culture (that defense is raised frequently when complaints against the hip hop culture are raised)and you are right the faces would be blurred since they are minors. While flipping stations I saw a broadcast on Romeoville public access that was from a dance event at RHS and the boys were simulating sex from behind the girls. I guess you need to practice in middle school to get on TV at the high school level. Wait it must be our country's newest reality show - America's got Whores.

I am the one with the pictures. It would be easy enough to blur out the faces of everyone except the principal. He has this stupid look on his face like he is hypnotized by all of the dancing rear ends. For those thinking I should go to the principal, I have talked to way too many parents of students at Lukancic to know that when it comes to bullying HE is more afraid of the parents of the bullies than he is of the victims. He is a dumb politician that collects a paycheck and hopes his teachers make him look good. His deans are his toys from what I have heard for the past two days. They are principals in training and following in his footsteps. I have read here "hang him out to dry". How do I do this. I was just told a few minutes ago that it is a new school board and the president is an idiot that does not even have his kids in the district because he does not trust the district. I read this from the board transcript itself. HELP!!!

Not all of the administrators in the district are tools. Let's give some of them credit for actually putting the kids best interest ahead of anything else.

Are you kidding me: Everythign you just wrote makes no sense. It's all "I have talked to many parents..." or "his deans are his toys from what I heard" or "I was just told a few minutes ago that it is a new school board and teh president is an idiot"....

Sounds to me like you are allowing other people to make up your mind. Have you ever dealt with the Principal? Since it's the Principal you have an issue with, you should go to the Board.

Quit following along with what others say......mHO
