Is anyone else experiencing problems with Walmart lately? I have noticed a significant decrease in the quality of their produce (as in seeing them actually stock the shelves with moldy strawberries and not carrying ANY fresh greens, only bagged with preservatives) and they always seem to be short staffed with extremely long check out lines. I have shopped there since they opened and have never experienced problems like this. I am calling their corporate office Monday morning to voice my concerns and switching groceries stores. Any suggestions???

I stopped shopping there and go to the Meijer on 59. Much better experience!

Completely agree. The Meijer at Rt59 & 135th is 100 times better than the Walmart in Romeoville. The best part is I never see LINC cards used at Meijer but every time at Walmart without fail there is someone using one (of course it is used to purchase high quality healthy foods, right).

I shop Walmart all the time and never ever have had problems with anything that I bought there. The only thing I dislike is their return policy. I shop Kohls for clothes as they have a very liberal policy for returns, no slip, and on credit cd. they never give a person a problem. But when it comes for groceries I like Walmart and Jewel in Lockport.

We just started shopping at Meijer in Bolingbrook. The Wal-Mart has started going down in customer service and quality of product. Meijers produce is fresh and plenty. Meijers always have plenty of cashiers and the lines are not long. I think they had a change of management.

I,too, am tired of the long wait time to check out a walmart. They have over 25 cash stands, yet no checkers. I have seen people walk out and leave an entire cart full of groceries because of the long wait times. There is less selection and the prices have gone up. I wish Target could have been a super-store. Been going to Meijer, too; along with Jewel. Better selection and I can no longer say that Walmart's prices are lower-- the prices are about the same now. I wouldn't even step in the place if it wasn't for the Dunkin' Doughnuts to get my coffee.

Trying buy ammunition at this place. The amount of time it takes to get someone with a key shows the disrespect they have for their customer lets a shooter. You really need 30 minutes of free time to get anything from the cabinet.

Walmart always say hiring and why are they always hiring. Maybe cause people don't do their job not enough cashier's. Tired standing in line for long time just for 2 items. Calling corporate doesn't do anygood I tried.

I was there last week and out of all the registers only 5 were open. I asked the door greeter, telling her I know she has no control over it, if all those registers are artwork? She said she knows and that it is terrible and people are complaining. I know they are busy advertising themselves as cheaper then Jewel... great, but I'm getting tired of standing in line forever for a couple of items. At least they could put in a self check!

I have a secret I will share. If you don't have a bunch of items go to the liquor check out. I do it all the time. In and out real fast!! Don't tell to many people though or that will end up being a long line too. Probably up to 15 items as long as they are not big. Enjoy!!!

Yeah, I don't think I've seen a store so consistently understaffed at the registers. Funny thing is, they have more than enough people in the rest of the store. Why they don't train their employees to be cashiers (like Target) is beyond me.

I shop at Meijer anyway for our big grocery purchases. The Walmart is 'convenient' because of its location, but once the roadwork gets down on Weber/Renwick, they will hopefully be building that Meijer there. So in a couple years we *should* have some better competition.

I like their selection in the electronics dept. Plenty of dvds and Blu-rays.

I think they have self checkouts, but they are always closed when I went there because nobody was there to watch them.
Had to go to a regular checkout and stood in line for a good 10 minutes for only a handful of items.

I really want to shop at the Romeoville WM more because they have a larger and better dvd/blu-ray selection than the Bolingbrook store does. Which is rather sad. I mean they remodeled that store and I swear that there selection actually went down hill since.

I go to DVDtalk and the blu-ray.com forum to find out what others are seeing in regards to dvd/blu-ray deals and the Bolingbrook store rarely if ever has them. Whereas the Romeoville store usually does.

I found out when I put stuff in my pockets I can just walk out without having to wait. Its a great way to beat the long lines and stuff is really cheap too.

Not sure why everyone is complaining, those guys barely make any money... If you're really that unhappy about Walmart, target is across the street.

I like the fact that its 24/7 and close to me, but if you ever go there after 10pm its a completley different crowd shopping there than compared to day time. Everyone at night that is shopping there at night looks like they are all drugged out and havent had a decent shower in at least two weeks.

Unfortunately, that's what Romeoville is turning into.

Just as many of those shoppers (if not more) are from Crest Hill, West Lockport and North Joliet. And a few from Plainfield.

Lol. If you should ANYWHERE after midnight, you're going to see an 'eclectic' crowd.:D

Was at Walmart again this morning - ONE register open, and it was one of the '20 items or less' registers. Guy at the front of the line had like 50 items. Everyone else in back of him had a handful of items. They need self-checkout in the worst way.
