VVSD School Board Member

Someone needs to ask the school board members tomorrow night if they have THEIR kids enrolled in the district. I heard that one of them doesn't and is trying to keep it a secret. What kind of message does this send?

Read this week's Bugle. Appealing to the 65% of taxpayers who do not have a child in the Valley View system. The board expects deficits over 1. million and has planned massive cuts folks. As another of the forum topics addressed earlier this month.
I have no children in the system, understand the economy is a horror but do consider the area schools to be of utmost importance to maintain area property values. Folks are already questioning the quality of education in this system. Take heed.
The system collapses, the schools get horribly underfunded and no one will choose to live here.
the village will collapse on itself. Heck, years ago, bolingbrook was an up and coming place. the closer to here parts don't seem so hot now, not that I know all of Bolingbrook. But you get the point.

Well, maybe it wouldn't be so underfunded if the district didn't have so many administrators for everything. Administrators in this district make a minimum of $150,00 a piece. The superintendent makes a huge salary while maintaining a $200,000 a year retirement from another school district he worked at. Let's cut administration salary, not aides, nor teachers. Do we really need an ass't. superintendent for just about every department imaginable? The KIDS need the money, not these clowns. No one chooses to live here anyway-take a look at all the empty homes (some foreclosed, some moved and couldn't sell right away). Stop cutting the programs for children and start cutting administration salary. The schools are for the education and well-being of students, not the line the pockets of these greedy fools.

You are incorrect. One member had his children in a school and recently pulled them out and enrolled them in a private school.
