Really? We allow felons to volunteer at our children's schools? This parent has a drug charge and probably more in his background and I come to find out he is volunteering at my sons school tomorrow. This is unacceptable, I don't want a drug dealer or drug addict around my child.

Did he pay his dues to society. Did you check to see if he is in recovery? Or are you just totally sin free. Many have had felonies in their past and turned their lives around. Have you facts that this person hasn't. I am not defending him but just making some observations from the other side of the fence.

Who cares, he made his bed now he has to lay in it. He has no rights, he lost them when he chose to break the law. Maybe you are a felon, are you? I have a right to choose who is around my children and I don't want some criminal probably fresh out of stateville around my child.

Seriously? The conviction could have been from his teen years and he is now a responsible adult. Get off your high horse. You don't even know what the charges were. I have a minor charge in my distant past. I called an ex an A hole over the phone. Guess what? He was being one and he had me arrested for it. He thought it would give him an edge in the custody battle. I received sole custody. Does that mean I shouldn't be inside my children's school because that one insult over the phone landed me in jail?

He may have paid his dues to society, but the safety of children are of the highest importance, not this guy's ego. Could he have been in prison as a sex offender or child molester, perhaps? He should not be around other people's children. We have no idea what his crimes are. It would be foolish to allow this man access to the school. Better safe than sorry. If this guy is so wonderful he wouldn't be a felon, now would he? A mistake is forgetting to pay the electric bill; committing a crime is a deliberate attempt to do harm to others either physically, by theft, fraud, etc. Get real. And yes, it does sound as though you are defending him. Should be defending the safety and rights of innocent kids.

Concerned parent stated that this man is a felon. That is a far cry from a minor charge. Get off your high horse. This isn't about a custody battle--it's about the safety and well-being of school age children.

It's a drug charge, high horse? His type don't deserve a second chance. Once scum always scum. He's Mexican as well probably a part of a cartel, cocaine or something.

Oh the race card came out. Tells more about yourself than what you have said in your posts. There are many that have drug charges and have become productive citizens. How ever bigots like your self are what is causing the drug problems to grow. Think why so many have to go back to selling and buying drugs. It is because they can't get a job because of bigots like your self. Go ahead I don't care that you and some others will tear this apart but that is what you do best. I am willing to say that you don't have the guts to go and confront this person in person. No I have never had any kind of trouble from the law. How ever I do know many that have through my work.

I am truly astonished to see anyone disagreeing with the fact that children could potentially be in danger. We don't know a thing about this guy. I certainly wouldn't want a convict around my kid! What kind of nut case takes the side of a convict and not an innocent kid? That's a scary thought!

I totally disagree with you. Drug dealers go back to selling because it's a quick, easy and lucrative buck.

Also, I wouldn't want any drug dealer near my kids. They may be impaired--and lack sufficient judgement. That along would endanger a child. What is so hard to understand about that?

Well it doesn't matter what anyone says, the scum never made it out of the bottom of the bucket. I honestly don't care my child's safety comes first, I don't want no drug dealing wet back at my child's school no matter if he got caught with a five dollar bag of weed or a whole brick of cocaine. The bottom line is he's Mexican and probably has no papers. I make sure my son doesn't speak to his anchor baby. Thank you to everyone that supported my post. Point one America 0 to the minorities that are only good for one thing, staying on welfare and causing trouble.
