Safe act, Patriot Act, No child left behind...I can continue on. Don't you see how the government uses the wording of bills to get passed that end up hurting more than helping. Oh I has a good name so we must pass it...even before reading what's in it

When democracy fails, good men rot in dirty jails. And those who cry "appease, appease" are hung by those they try to please.... Mao took the guns, hitler took the guns and Stalin took the guns. Anyone see a pattern here?

Don't kid yourself. If the Government wanted to take over it would. There isn't enough red necks around to stop it. It wouldn't be shootouts in streets. Those days are gone.

You may want to look at some statistics before you open your mouth. There are an estimated 300+million firearms in this country, owned by roughly 50 million people. Do you honestly think that a half million enlisted soldiers would even attempt to take on those numbers. You are underestimating the power of the American people. Furthermore the vast majority of law enforcement and soldiers would take sides with the citizens. This is not a third world country. We have seen this play out before several times. The government loses every time. No matter what the country.

You made a few assumptions about the police and soldiers that we can't predict. While I understand how owning guys makes some people feel like they're important, it's not as simple as you assume. Years ago The Patriots said taxes were illegal and they can't make you pay them. Of course in the end they paid or went to jail. Additionally there are examples all over of people trying to go up against Governments which didn't turn out well. If it makes you all warm and fuzzy to believe what you do, have at it. Maybe if the Republicans get back in you can be pro government and wave the flag again. Your type thought people protesting Vietnam War were Commies and pinkos. By the way, I think you are vastly over estimating. Because a person owns a gun, doesn't mean they are anti Government. In your bubble, I know it's true though.

Thanks Rambo I appreciate that. Always know they're will be a good meal waiting for you when you are done fighting the imaginary boogeyman. Remember your tin foil helmet. It will protect you from "them" reading your mind.

So that's what this is about. My gun makes me man! A large caliber gun makes me a bigger man. It's my being, my identity.

Spoken like a true liberal. So you think pearl harbor and Hitlers actions against humanity were imaginary,if he had a nuke's he would have used them all. I guess 911 was imaginary to the people who died and their family's. Boston bombers as well and the hundred of threats thwarted by the govt . Lets not forget the nuts in in the middle east that would cut your family's head off in front of you if given the slightest chance. No your the one wearing the foil helmet!

Thanks for the the history lesson. You can go back to Facebook or HGTV or whatever you do all day. You apparently haven't been following the discussion or have poor reading comprehension. But I'm sure in your world facts aren't all that important .
