dominck street was named after dominck lynch buyer of rome before it was from the expense property? His son named james was named james street.One went east and one north to south

Here is how it all happened....
One day a guy from the City pulled up in his truck, got out, and pounded a sign into the ground. Boom, your street now has a name.

Ive noticed in the country back road towns alot of street names match last names ive heard of in the area

I always thought it had something to do with the Embargo Act, signed by Jefferson, that prohibited trade with Britain & France - designed to keep the US out of the Napoleonic Wars.

Years ago, the Rome Sentinel did a series on this very topic. So, either the Sentinel archives or the Rome Historical Society would be sources of info on this.
