GREAT TO HEAR RICHARD SMITH IS STILL IN THE RUNNING! A challenge is good for the community!Can't wait to hear what this novice politican has to say next. If you read the Sentinels report on the last Town Board meeting you will know that Richard is very critical of the way things are done in Lee but does he have the solutions? It should be interesting to see how he plans to save taxpayers of Lee more money? I wonder if Smith realizes that being a politican involves more than hand shakes and smiles?

I have done some checking on this guy! What a history. Check out his work in the Salvation Army! Not to mention the U.S. Army! I bet he can and will save Lee money. He does not sit and talk, he acts! He is a go getter and will humble himself to any task that is put in front of him. I did not detect critism at the town meeting but I did detect Mr. Urtz getting a bit uncomfortable with the direct questions asked. Yes, good old boys, I was there! We all know Smith is more than capable! We also know he is a man who knows so much more than we do how to care for people and put them first. Does Smith know that politics is more than handshakes and smiles? Of, course he does, that's why he was at the meetings. And talk about solutions? I bet he finds more than one for every issue. Watch out my dear friends, he is good!

Are we to have blind faith or will we hear from Richard Smith before Nov.3rd on why he thinks change is needed? Anyone can claim change is needed but one needs to back up what he says otherwise his word means nothing!Mr. Urtz promises NO NEW TAXES he can back it up with many years of no increases, come on Richard wheres your plan, your platform, whats it all about Richard? A candidate also has to be quick on his feet.

The Town Of Lee is sooooo ready for Richard Smith!! I am betting just on general practices he "WON'T" have his "WIFE" in there as his Deputy making $9000 a year and getting cell phone reimubusement as well and by the way Urtz's wife has never attended a meeting!!! I am also betting that "APPOINTED POSITIONS" for the Town Of Lee will be offered to Town Of Lee Tax Payers and not just handed to a best coffee buddy's daughter who by the way happens to live in Rome and who drives the Town Of Lee vehicle all over the place at the Towns expense!!!!! Have we been keeping track?? Does Rich have a "Platform" YOU CAN CERTAINLY BET THAT HE DOES...IT IS BASED ON HONESTY, DOING THE RIGHT THING, LOOKING OUT FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE TOWN OF LEE!!! He will bring genuine purpose to the position and the people will appreciate and respect his leadership..Oh and I bet they will even recognize him since he has already been quite visible in the community!! If you want to call yourself Lee-der-ship then just think about it all before raising too many questions...There is Sooooo much more!!!

Lee-der-ship, what else has urtz done besides keep taxes at bay. From what I've read he has built the new lee offices...which is all fine and dandy, but what purpose does it hold if he, AND HIS WIFE work from home with re-imbursement. Did they forget to build offices in that new building? I've also noticed that there is alot of "fixing up" going on over at the park. I hope people recognize the fact that the ONLY reason this is being done is because its an election year. And trust me...people have been hearing from Richard. As he at least attempts to meet the people of this community. Half of which doesnt even know Urtz exists...or what he looks like, or can name one positive thing he has done in 34 years. And yes, these people are willing to walk by faith for the chance that things can get better.

Lee-der-ship, I would find a new name...there has not been leadership in Lee for a long time.

And local supporter WHAT!!!!!$9000.00 as his wife and she doesnt even go to meeting!!! There is a word for that...Nepotism. As I believe 90% of that "Leadership" is related to Urtz one way or the other...start asking questions people!!!!!

LeeDerShip, Im in complete agreement that a challenge is just what our current administration needs. If nothing else, it may make people aware of certain issues, AND it just might make people get out there and Vote!!(deadline to register is 10/9 by the way). I truly believe that Richard knows that there is more to this than a nice smile and a handshake. However, a personality just might be important when he is going door to door, almost everyday, getting to know the people in this community. Taking the opportunity to introduce himself to the Voters and letting them know hes is running for them.

As far as what "Local Supporter" mentioned. Yes, Mrs. Urtz is the deputy supervisor making $9000.00 per year to do pretty much nothing. AND, if she does have responsibilities, It would be nice to know what they are. It cant be overseeing the budget, because I believe Mr. Urtz also gets paid, in addition to the 18,500, to do that job also.

Mr. LeeDerShip, you said that rich needs to do more than handshake...but Mr. Urtz needs to do a little more to get himself liked in this community. I believe he is a good man, but his integrity is on the line...people are taking notice of the "not so ethical" dealings within the community, and NOW is the time, if he plans on being re-elected, for him to perhaps get out there and shake a few hands.

One new shed and a pain job is not going to win the election. It could be a case of too little too late.

Please, Mr. Urtz, it might be a good time to start defending yourself and get out there and let people know why it is that you do what you do.

And dont be so sure that Rich doesnt have a plan of action. He is a brilliant man, he knows what needs to be done and how to do it, without making the town look bad.

Obiviuosly Richard is using his sister-inlaw as his mouth piece! Why can't Richard speak for himself or does he lack the confidence to do so? Maybe you should be the running instead of him. Your doing him more harm than good with your comments let him speak for himself, that is the only way the people can make a informed decision. Again Richard needs to present a plan of why he believes change is needed.May I suggest by starting with a campaign manager or maybe you are that person?? Only two months to go. I think its time the people od Lee know the real reason Richard is in this race, don't you? Why not challenge Mr. Urtz to a debate in a public forum say the RCT on Turin rd.or on WKTV like alot of politicans running for office will do or WIBX. Let's see if he has what it takes or not.

I have always made it very clear that I am Richards sister in law, that is something I am proud of. I, also, have made it very clear that Mr. Urtz is not the enemy, he is an opponent. I have tried alway to be respectful of his position, but I am also not afraid to state facts.

Richard has a very able campaign manager, however, Richard is also a man who has a great mind and can handle things on his own.

Personally, I think a debate would be an incredible idea, do you think Mr. Urtz would submit to it? I believe that perhaps mr. Lee Der Ship, you are also close to the campaign as you are using thier heading "LEEdership" as your tag. Im not afraid to say who I am, why wont you do the same.

Not really sure how I am proving Richard harm. It is obvious that I am in his corner, and my simple plea for Mr. Urtz to come forward and defend his actions is due to the mere fact, that if...and I repeat IF, he remains in office, I would like to be comfortable with what is happening in the community where I chose to raise my family.

Questions to you Leedership: Do you think its ethical that Mrs Urtz was appointed as Deputy Supervisor? Do you think its ethical that the majority of the appointed positions were assigned to family members or close friends? Do you think that keeping taxes at bay is the ONLY qualification Mr. Urtz has? Do you think that the Town of Lee has such a large number of unqualified individuals, that we have to search elsewhere for appointed positions?

And also, you say that Richard has not spoken up for himself? Where has Mr. Urtz been. I believe you are here speaking on his behalf. Rich does speak for himself....to the people who matter. At their doorstep where he is greeted with enthusiam and hope for a different future for Lee.

He may love him now...but just wait until he's elected and he realizes he is not a puppet! Richard Smith will soon show his true colors...and those colors are red white and blue to the very core. He is not a "made man". He is his own person with an agenda that will benefit the community where he lives. Mr. Brown could very well "love" Richard because he is a good person with alot of integrity. But, if he "loves" him because of the fact he think he can control him, he is way off base. 9000$ after taxes? Even before taxes that's 3/10ths of a penny per Lee resident per day(using census 2k stats). So every 3 days shes costing each of you a penny. Oh the shame of it all. The things that keep you people up at night, makes me wonder.

Phaistos...even you must agree that appointing family members to local positions is just a tad unethical.

And what more do we need to say? "No New Taxes" seems to be the only platform Mr. Urtz has...and from what I understand, it has been said over and over again that "No New Taxes" is also on Richards agenda. So now what?

And also, I havent seen many Urtz supporters following up on their candidate. Even you, Phiastos, has not said one thing that would convince me that John is our guy.

I understand that you feel that your position in these forums is just to add fuel to the fire...and I myself appreciate that. I love a good debate. But please, try to be constructive.
