Crime is here to stay in Rome NY. Seems to be more rampant. Maybe they need to hire more police, I dont think 80 is enough. Im guessing (WE) Rome NY have a reputation down in the city, Rome NY u can get a way with murder up there. Not to mention alot of these people are released from the NYSDOC (Prisons) and bring their families and friends up here. They are seasoned criminals if u will. More like an educated criminal, instead of learning History, or Biology they have years under watchful eye of corrections officers, cameras, etc to figure out new ways to out smart and go undetected. These guys arent just sitting around playing checkers and basketball all day, sure thats a rec. activity and all. But just like soldiers they learn and become more productive at what they do. We are reaping what we have sown in this city ROMANS, from inviting 4 prisons here. What was the benefit to this community maybe 1500 jobs for people not even from here. Most of the correction officers were sent here from other areas of NY. Now we have the lower end of professional criminals setting the pace, a pace that to be honest the local law enforcement cant compete with. Just sayin tho....
