Yes, it's the old Coco's. And then it was several other restaurants since then too. It never seems to work out. The building is huge and the overhead must be extremely high. It seems every restaurant/ bar that tries to open there flops after a couple years. I hope this one works out...I really do. The building has alot of potential. It will likely take a small fortune to keep it going unless the food/ atmosphere/ venue is fantastic. Then, it could pay for itself.

Any business that moves in there never fixes the problems with the kitchen and because of that after a few months it is hard to pass a food service inspection. The walk-in needs to be replaced since it loses temperature through the rat holes near the floor. Patching those holes doesn't fix it as this has been done several times with limited success. The old stove and grill also both leak gas. The insulation is lead-lined which causes those who work and visit regularly to get those "lead" creep feelings. The upstairs is uninsulated which means any heat or A/C goes right outside. And those are just for starters why no business is ever successful for long out there.

I agree people need a place to get hammered and then drive until they pass out! This area is no fun anymore.

I ordered wings and sandwiches for the family. The cold cut sandwiches were small and the lettuce was wilty and warm. The chicken wings were not completely cooked and still pink inside. Whoever they have cooking had best do a better job or that business will be sued out of business. I will try again, but I will pick it up because they charge for delivery of orders that are even $30+.

Just had a delightful lunch at the Griff. I had the Hot Chicken Parmesan Sub and my wife had the Meatball Sub ~ both were great. The service was outstanding. Our wait person was friendly and helpful. We got to meet the owner, who stopped by our table to greet us.

They opened on Monday the 19th and have a Grand Opening scheduled for Wednesday the 28th with the Mayor of Rome in attendance. Looks like they are off to a good start.

If they don't have too much success as a restaurant they'll turn it into another Sports Page Cafe, just trying to attract the younger crowd. Then when that dies down they'll turn it into a dance club with the rappers, just like the Sports Page. One of the bar maids will serve an underage customer liquor and then they'll lose their liquor license and close. Thats what happened to the last tenant, Myron's.

A friend and I ate at The Griff the other night. I had spaghetti with sausage and she had the barbeque burger. I got angel hair pasta which is different than spaghetti, the 2 sausages were undercooked and the chef had sprinkled them with parsley which was not needed. I sent the plate back so the chef could cook the sausages more. My friend said her burger and fries were really good. I am willing to give the place a 2nd chance as I know they have just opened up.

The cook there, is no cook. Hes a jackass who says he cooked at the Turning Stone etc. Hes never cooked anywhere and does not know how. They better get rid of him, and fast.
