Not really - SOLVED - that is - no arests for murder. The panamanian "group" of cocaine dealers were prosecuted for drug trafficking and included was the known facts of the Coss and Jacobs murders. The federal court judge concluded that there was sufficent evidence to associate the "gang" with the homicides and the circumstances of their involvement in the deaths were considered in their sentencing for their drug trafficking. When the cops took the group down they had over 4 kilos of cocaine along with a lot of cash. They were/are a tight lipped clan and none of them would throw any of the others under the bus. Strawberry in particular was a real hard core street thug. He sported several bullet scars from his past dealings in NYC and South Carolina. Two with entrance scars on his chest and exit scars on his back. The "crew" moved here after one of them had been incarcerated in Mid State for a drug charge from NYC. His momma and kids moved to Rome to be nearby and found that Rome would be a nice place to set up shop. Soon the rest of the family migrated to the land of milk and honey (no rival gangs and little police interference) Another of the gang got attention shortly before the Fisher murders by kidnapping a girl and cutting her hair off, beating her and her b/f to within an inch of their lives - all over 1 ounce of coke that was misplaced. This guy probably was involved in the shooting also and there is still a federal warrant out for him as a fugitive from justice - Probably in Panama now but if you see Pachitto, tell him the feds are still after him.

I know Calandras and grew up with many of them. They were not involved in any murder. I also knew the kid and his mother. The girlfriend was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was a paid hit by Stawberry.
