I haven't been to the Erie Canal Village since 4th grade. I thought they had closed! Glad to see they are doing something with it.

I'm looking forward to spending some time there once the Victorian Fair starts. Sounds like fun.

Here's a link to the information about it. I read it from the thread here in Topix "How to make Rome a better place"

Hahaha I dont think the Victorian era had tavern wenches! You must be thinking about the Sterling festival-- great fun been there about 3 or 4 times. I love the steak on a stake! Great jousting and open plays. Its not cheap but still great fun and great beer too!

I enjoy the Victorian era decor, jewelry, dress, and furniture. I collect it, sell it and buy it! So I will be there!

I take it back! there was tavern wenches in a movie I seen once in the Victorian era, there much more subdued though. Will there be any at the Victorian fair is another question, I actually dont know. They are starting to accumulate actors, carpenters, stage crew, vendors etc. I wished I had more items ready I would have a booth there. A great idea for Rome!

We are still looking for workers starting July 31st. We need ticket takers, parking attendants and tavern people. It pays $100 a weekend and you get gate and camping passes. Several booths will be hiring this weekend as well.

We also need volunteers for towns people, singers and musicians.

We are indeed accumulating ladies to adorn the tavern, and a few to attend to the laundry! We certainly would love help from any volunteers that would like to add to our merry(mischievous) group!

Hey Matt any idea how much renting a tent is there? with electricity? Can vendors sell together and share costs. I guess I can try to call you!
