I am a parent of a child that I unfortunatly have to put him on the bus each morning. Recently he was getting hit by older kids on the bus, so I called Bernie Bus and demanding I see the video as to what exactly happened and they said i was unable to do that. I am so fed up with Bernie Bus and their drivers. I know so many concerned parents. Does anyone else have complaints, maybe we can all get together to do something about this so we know are kids will always be safe on the bus. We as parents should not have to be worried to send our kids to school on a bus. The owner obviously has no idea what goes on on his buses nor does he care.

I know the buses are real bad. I have to send mine on it too which I do not like at all.Thankfully I have never had a problem with him but he tells me of the fights, bullying etc. that goes on constant. I believe they cannot get enough help or employees who can handle it so they quit. Complain to the principal at his school, they have videos on buses to prove what goes on.I dont think they view the videos unless theres a compliant.Your right we should not have to worry. But nowadays we have to worry everywhere with all the unstable people and hate in this world.Parents need to step up for our children, that is the parents who care like us.

Why don't you drive your kids to school then? Have you thought of that?

for your info the owner drives his own buses and some parents dont beleive that there kid could be the trouble maker on the bus, they beleive what there children say untill there proved wrong and then they still dont beleive,it takes two to tangle not every kid is an angel all the time

not all the buses are bad it depends on the area where the bus goes and i think that there are some very good bus drivers at bernie bus just like my kids bus driver,i live in a trialer park and there are about 30 some kids that ride my kids bus they all stay sitting and wear seat belts.they like there bus driver and i dont worry about my kids at all maybe if you have a problem you should take your kids to school your self instead of putting down people who try there best to take care of your children.

Exactly, if you don't like your kid riding the bus, suck it up and take them to school. If you are there to see them off you can surely take them to school yourself.

Do you people think that these parents wouldn't take their kids to school if it was at all possible. And by the way, do you really think that Mr. Birnie "drives the buses!"

Call the head of transportation for the school district, better yet, call the superintendent!

If Birnie paid a decent wage, he'd be able to get monitors for all the buses.

It ought to be possible because it is their legal responsibility...

If you can't get your children to school please stop reproducing.

he does drive a bus. For RCS...he's too scared to get on an inner-city bus and see what really happens.

Some parents don’t have the resources to drive their children to school or they live too far away from the school to walk so that leaves them no choice but to put them on the bus.
The school year is just about done so why not take the summer months to get organized and approach the School Board, Bernie Bus and Rome City School District Bus to solve the problem of monitors on the buses for the 2012-13 school year including parents’ access to the bus videos. If budgets restrict monitors on every bus then organize a volunteer monitor program. It seems pretty sad that monitors are required on school buses to keep our children under control and safe. Some of this problem definitely originates in the children’s homes. If I had caused problems on the bus my parents would have promptly addressed the problem and it wouldn’t be denial that their child wouldn’t do such a thing.

I had got a job with Bernie Bus a year ago i was a bus monitor needless to say i quit after a few days, the pay is not worth it,when you training they tell you some of the craziest things about what you can't do for example if 2 kids are fighting you are not to break them up just call RPD and wait for them to respond by that time who know what will happen,me being a x marine i can't allow that.

I have 3 boys that go to three different schools. Two ride the bus one I drive. I drive him only because it is convienent and I get to spend more time with him. My middle son LOVES riding his bus. He has a fit if he can't. His busdriver is awesome and has the kids in assigned seats. There is never a problem on the bus. May be the area we live in but never once in 6 years had a problem. He even left his ipad on the bus one day and a kid turned it in to the driver and he made a special trip to bring it back to us at the end of his route. My oldest rarely rides the bus as he and his friends all drive now. If for whatever reason he has to ride it he has no complaints and I have never had an issue with that bus.

Tim Birnie does NOT drive any buses. He runs a multi-million dollar company. He doesn't have time to run around town picking kids up. Seriously who believes that?? We happen to be good friends with him and his family and know this for a fact!

If your kid is having trouble on the bus why not look at your kid and the neighborhood. Or just get up early enough to drive them there yourself.
