HOW DO YOU KNOW THERE ARE NO HOMELESS IN CLINTON? ARE YOU “SCOWERING” THAT TOWN AS WELL?
C'MON YOU JUST DON'T SOUND RIGHT...
WHY DON'T YOU HELP OUT YOUR FELLOW HUMAN BEING INSTEAD OF POSTING USELESS, TOXIC TOPIX...

Agreed, did you ever think that one day YOU may end up homeless? It can happen. Tragedy, accidents, yes it can happen to you. So why not help your fellow less fortunate man. "He ain't heavy, he's my brother."

we could provide beds and heat in the winter for some and we should. Why does the rome shelter need all that space for clothes in the old Janone building, why don't they put in a couple of showers and a few cots, maybe help these people get some dignity then they might help themselves, stick in a couple of councelors to find out what social or veterans programs these people may qualify for. Do something to help, don't just criticize and drive them to Utica.

and by the way, do places like the welcome hall solicite local rests. for left over food. that place on east dominick street is nothing more than a hangout and having people sitting out front all day smoking stops some from stopping in to donate or deliver left over or other food items, especially women.

I was a homeless activist in Los Angeles in 1987. I worked side by side with Activist Ted Hayes of Justiceville (Tent City) for 6 months. Although I had a room in a hotel there, I only used it to shower and rest. I served the homeless food, when there was never any left for me to eat. Have you any idea what it is to be homeless? People only have to lose their jobs to be evicted by their landlords, to suddenly find themselves living outdoors, if they have no loved ones to help them out. You try sleeping outside for one night without a mattress/blanket/food/warm clothes, etc. It is truly a living hell. I literally saw homeless people die on the sidewalks of L.A. My heart is still so broken over the severe neglect/abuse of human beings by the rich politicians who could care less. Be grateful that you have a safe place to enjoy your lives. I agree we need another shelter, but the homeless need to follow the rules in them.
Shelters do not allow alcohol, drugs or prostitutes. Violators are tossed out.
The people in the empty houses are there because they want to do as they please.

I know church groups sometimes buy food and put on the meals because my parents used to do that...until they got burned out by the ungrateful sh!ts that would come in.

There were nice people too, but they just could no longer handle the people who wanted more variety or different food.
Even though it was FREE they would COMPLAIN!

If there were places for the really needy to go then we could weed out the drug addicts and thieves. if there was a place for them to sleep inside then the ones illegally staying in places like park drive would be subject to search and arrest.

Maybe some of you should go to the City Hall in Rome and see if there's a way that one of those vacant buildings can be used for the HOMELESS people for the winter.

"You don't have to walk in a man's shoes to know where he's been. All you have to do is buy him a new pair to get him to where he's going." rcc

It takes only one person to get the ball rolling.

If anyone does go to City Hall, please post your findings regarding the HOMELESS people. Thank You very much.

i would make them do silly things for food drugs or money whatever they want i can start a rome version of bumfights? where are they i got 20 bucks sayin i cant make one kick ahnother in the junk then pee on him anyhow i think its an idea im going with, i have more respect for the homeless couse theyre not milkin the system for my tax money like the foodstampers i hate them more lazy lazy lazy thats all bums are good they give us motivation and something to throw food at and change, maybe they should stand the fort and wash windows or make igloos to live in for winter, the eskimos do it, theres good fishing in rome make them work for their license then teach them to catch carp with a carp, in an igloos and my 20 bucks for bashin their genitals with hammers theyll be all set they can use my 20 for crack...thats my take on it
