For what its worth,he is out of work with PAY,thats a vacation.I for one, hope he did nothing wrong.I still think as a tax payer, who pays his pay,we should have the rite to know what the charges are.I don`t think thats unresonable.I think some of the posters here are loosing track of the fact that he is a public employee.

I am a Tea Bagger and tired of Liberal Laws that OVERPAY Civil Servants. Not to mention the same Liberal Union Rules that sent our manufacturing base elsewhere has destroyed the integrity of of Police and Fire Departments. Things will change when Rick Lazio gets elected this fall.
FYI P&C like Great American also Acme Supermarkets failed because they are Union. Wal Mart, Aldi and Price Chopper are still expanding. They pay better to just they are allowed to get rid of dead wood.
I pay taxes and find it disgusting that a law enforcement officer (who should have went to jail) beat up his wife or used illegal drugs as several people mentioned earlier.

Satan was Lucifer until he challenged the Lord. Osama Bin Laden back in the day was a great person. Maybe he was good man and a great cop back in the day but, ANYONE THAT WOULD BEAT THEIR WIFE UP OR USE DOPE WHEN HE IS A DRUG COP (As other posters suggested) IS A PIECE OF CRAP.. FREAKING LIBERAL YELLOW BELLY.

I have been a Police Officer in this area for over twenty years. I have never commented on this site and only peruse it on occasion for a laugh (or a groan) depending on the comments posted. I have read several postings in the past that show a real disdain for Police Officers in general. I hope that when I leave the job that my health is intact because I have been hurt on the job numerous times and these medical issues will follow me for the rest of my life. I will not be compensated for these injuries as I have forced myself to go to work each and every day and am not looking for a free ride from anyone. Law enforcement has changed a lot since I came on the job. The police officers entering the work force in this day and age usually have, at the least, an associate degree and most further their education while working the job. Most of these police officers would have made a lot more money in the private sector if they had not chosen public service. This profession was actually a second career for me and I left a job that paid three times as much at the time (and I have never regretted it). Most people would agree that the local and world community has become more violent over the last few years it does not appear that things are getting any better. It en heartened me to see that there are still young men and women in this area that choose public service and are willing to put their lives on the line for the betterment of society.
In an earlier post I read that police officers have more rights than “regular people”. This is a true statement. I have had several of these “rights” for years and I can’t wait to relinquish them.
These are not generalizations, but my OWN rights that have been afforded to ME, personally.
1. I have had the right to have guns pointed at me.
2. I have had the right to be shot at.
3. I have had the right to stare into the eyes of a dying child and tell them that they were going to be alright, knowing that they would be with Jesus in a few minutes.
4. I have had the right to dig through burned out houses to recover the remains of once loving and beautiful families.
5. I have had the right to dive in to a frigid river to attempt to save someone who was trapped in a vehicle in thirty feet of water and had just nearly struck several children.
6. I have had the right to enter a burning residence when “regular people” are at the road edge saying “I think there are kids in there”.
7. I have had the right to wrestle in the road with a combative person, while “regular people” drove by.
8. I have had the right to have a bottle broke over my head and left in the woods for dead (14 staples and a concussion).
9. I have had the right “protect” people who have previously pointed guns at me or assaulted me.
10. I have had the right to have a contract put out on my life.
11. I have had the right to leave for work and see the look in my wife’s eyes, wondering if she would ever see me again.
12. I have had the right to come up with an answer when my children ask “ Are these other people more important than us kids and mom”?
13. I have had the right to hold, comfort and cry with someone’s mom after they have collapsed, being told that their son or daughter was with Jesus.
14. AND FINALLY, I HAVE THE RIGHT TO KEEP AN INDELIBLE IMAGE OF ALL OF THIS BURNED IN TO MY MIND FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE, LONG AFTER THE GUN AND BADGE HAS BEEN LAID ON THE DESK FOR THE LAST TIME. I WILL NOT BE LONELY WHEN I LEAVE BECAUSE I WILL HAVE MY NIGHTMARES TO KEEP ME COMPANY.

One thing that I have found over the years, is that my experience in law enforcement is not much different than other police officers. I am the RULE rather than the EXCEPTION”. Police officers are human like everyone else, except we have the luxury of having everyone else’s problems lumped on top of our own.

Now lets get to the situation of Investigator Joseph Rotolo.

1. I KNOW Inv. Joe Rotolo.
2. I Have WORKED with Inv. Joe Rotolo.
3. I have LAUGHED with Inv. Joe Rotolo.
4. I have CRIED with Inv. J. Rotolo.
5. I have BROKE BREAD with Inv. Joe Rotolo.
6. Inv. Joe Rotolo has been part of MY FAMILY and I, IN HIS for years.
7. Inv. Joe Rotolo and I have each been involved in some of the most tragic times our families have ever faced.
8. I will not even ENTERTAIN, or become involved in any DISCUSSION concerning the ROTOLO or FRAGAPANE families as they are good, solid people that have selflessly contributed to the City of Rome for decades.

INV. JOSEPH ROTOLO KNOWINGLY, INTENTIONALLY AND SELFLESSLY PUT HIMSELF IN A POSITION TO TAKE A BULLET FOR ME BECAUSE HE KNEW THAT I WAS IN A POSITION OF DISADVANTAGE AND COULD NOT PROTECT MYSELF AND IT WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. IF YOU TRULY KNEW INV. ROTOLO, AS I DO, THIS DECISION WAS NOT BASED ON OUR FRIENDSHIP, BUT BY VALUE, MORALITY AND DUTY. HIS DECISION WOULD HAVE BEEN THE SAME FOR ANYONE THAT LIVES IN THE CITY OF ROME!!!

It seems that there are a lot of people out there that feel that they have a RIGHT to know what is going on. It is an INVESTIGATION. When the investigation is over you will. Afford Inv. Rotolo the same courtesy and respect that you would want for yourselves. If you read the newspaper or listen to the radio, have you ever heard the following:“Prior to investigating a complaint, the following people have been charged….”. I think not!!! What you do read and hear is “After a two week investigation in to a complaint, the following people were charged…” What you never hear is “After a two week investigation in to a complaint no one is charged”. A complaint is a complaint whether it is factual or not. To determine this an INVESTIGATION must be completed.

P.S. Joe, Shelly and family, were keeping you in our hearts.
P.P.S. LUV YA SON
P.P.P.S. I don’t hide behind a badge or a computer.

If you know who she is speak up! You have no idea who she is so shut the hell up! She has some very valid points. Have an open mind. Just because you think you know what your talking about doesn't mean you really do.
Mark,
Right on dude! It took alot of guts to say what you said! Anyone that has a clue knows that it was hard for you to do this. It's very much appreciated by those who matter. Thanks for having the guts to inform the uneducated and stick up for those who can't.

FYI I am from Rome dumbass. I was born and raised there. My family is still there. I am there all the time. IT IS MY CITY! The only reason I'm up here instead of there is because my husband is over in Iraq right now so you can say all that crap you want since we have the freedom of speech! You have no idea what you are talking about. You spout off about all this but you have no idea. Imagine if it was your family they all talked about on here. How would you feel? You call people names thinking you are a big man but your not. your a coward that hides behind a computer. You can call me all the names you want. I could care less. It just shows who is the ignorant one really is. You just sit back and enjoy your freedom but remember who is there to protect you. One day you will need the cops and they will be there. No matter what you have said or what you have done or how they feel about you. Thats their job and they care about the people there. I have seen it many times.

Kelly is full of it. I could lie and say I am still in Rome too. Notice how your IP addy gives you away? Notice how it detects where you are posting from?
Insofar as saying Kelly is related to the Wrights, that would make her the highest functioning of the family I have seen. Most Wrights are retarded or illiterate. That came from generations of inbreeding. I highly doubt that Kelly is related to the Wrights. Most of the Wrights would call the paramedics if someone had a cold. That is what I know of the Wrights during my employment and when I dealt with them in a professional manner.
