Not confirm someone's age, come on now! It is not an acceptable for of identification, you can't buy cigarettes or liquor with your Facebook page lol. And if you have any concern for your own furure and not sleeping with a minor, you won't use Facebook (lol) as proof of age. I don't understand why this very simple concept escapes some people.

Nah. Positive identification is needed. Anyone who falls back on facebook for proof is standing on thin ice. Wake up sweetheart. Not sure where you get your information, but being that it's my line of work, this MOM, not grandma, can tell you that you are pretty much full of s**t. So stop talking about things you don't know nothing about. Nuff said.

Most people nowadays are using facebook to hook up. If a girl has on her facebook page that she is 18 and shes really 16, then that is the parents fault for not monitoring their kids facebook page and can be used in court to show what a liar she is.
It's the mans responsibility to find out the truth before "hooking up" with a young girl. People lie and parents don't always care what their teens are doing but that doesn't give a man a free for all with young girls. He has his own responsibility in it and to himself, his family and friends. How could you risk so much, your future and family embarrassment, because you just couldn't say no to a hookup on Facebook with a young who might be lying about her age. If you can't understand that then your judgement is probably clouded by a family member going through this issue. I hope he learned his lesson.

FYI Facebook is not admissable in court. It's considered third party information and not accurate. Just like Topix. its all bulls**t. Bottom line? Todays world is completely screwed up. If an adult can't get to the bottom of the age issue, and is too desperate to get L**d and won't do the legwork to find out the real story, then screw 'em. They deserve whatever they get. True story.

It wasn't through facebook. And, no, it's not a family member. It is my 22 year old friend who went through this. He and friends went drinking at a bar which carded everyone entering. While there he got dancing with a girl who was drinking with her friends. They danced, drank, partied, and end of evening she went home with him. They had a pleasant time, then she went home in the morning. Two days later, he was arrested and charged with sexual assault of a child. Turns out, despite the carding and thanks to a phoney ID, she was really only 16, not the 21 he thought.
The question to be asked is who is the predator: the man that has sexual relations with a teen who lies about her age, or the teen who ruins a mans life by lying about her age? Where is the mens rea when it is the purported victim who has defrauded the defendant into committing a crime?Ibet i know the tramp you are talking about her mom was the same way, they both are trash
You must know someone who lied about her age and now they are taking advantage of NYS laws. It's too bad the law and your judgement is clouded by the fact that she is a liar and a slut. The parents of girls who lie about their age raised a stupid girl. Good job! Not only did they raise a kid who thinks sex at 13,14,15,16, is OK, but they raised a liar too.

well said! if they are younger than 18 (or 21 in a bar) they should face charges along with their parents. men need to be responsible to know who they are with, but parents also need to pay attention to what their kids are doing. stop crying victim when your child gets into trouble and start begin PARENTS.

These "lil" girls now days def dont look their age. I have met 14,15 n 16 year old that look than me and I am 20. And you cant just ask them for their IDs but Ive met people who are older than me and don't have IDs. It is not the mans fault that he took her at her word. That's how I am was raised to take a man at his word, but you cant do that now days because its so easy to lie with all this technology. I am actually dealing with this kinda situation myself. These so called lil girls want to sleep with these older men and then expect them to date them and then when they wont they pull this billshit. They know exactly what they are doing when they get on these sights and lie bout there age. I have been raped and because of lil girls like this that cry rape, ends up not being true and then when girls like me have actually been raped nobody believes. This world has become a terrible place. Its not rape if you enjoyed it.

Unsuspecting men?? Give me a break! 17 is the age of consent and if a man took a minute or two to talk to the girl, he'd quickly realize if the girl is under 17! Get real! Don't make excuses for sick pervs!! Pig guys who just want to stick it in deserve what they get. It's not that hard to tell if a girl is under 17 if you get to know them for more than a minute, but I guess your pig perv friends are dense or something or just don't care! You're sick for thinking the desperate perverted men are some kind of victims! Keep them away from your kids!

There isn't a very big age difference between a 16 year old and an 18 year old. You're acting like they are screwing 3 year olds.

16 and 18 ARE within each others ages. It's just that the law says it's illegal.

Some guys think ( If they're old enough to bleed, they're old enough to breed.) So parents protect and courts convict. What else can be done, it,s sex. It's been going on for millions of years. A 50 year old guy with a 13 year old girl is child molesting but a guy in his 20's with a 16 year old is sex. And keeping an eye on your daughter is as hard as marching cats in a parade.
