Benson and Stamboly planted in the race by Simons. They are going out telling people they want Jeff out. Jeff would fire them if it was true. Benson is the second highest paid person in the school district. Vote Favata, Leonard and Hitchings. Do not go for any lies being spread by them or Riedel. Bring back balance to the school board. Vote! Vote! Vote!

Use your power and do the right thing and vote! If you want change and it sounds like you do, VOTE! I know I'm voting for John Leonard his article in the paper is like a breath of fresh air. I need to hear what the others want to do. I don't trust spouses of administrators.

Do not vote for Marcus campos,he truly is a back stabbing want to be cop .what ever happened to his charges of false impersonation of a police officer.he has lights installed on his car and pulls over young girl in early morning hours pretending to be a police officer.sees that she is not alone and has her mother with her and takes off.he is nothing but a piece of crap who hasn't fallen far from the tree.his real father is in prison and he is surely going to follow in his fathers footsteps.

....and don't forget to vote NO! on the school budget. Simons saw fit to give 3 ass't. supt's. pay raises when their base salaries are $112K/ year. If I was making a salary that high I would gladly forego any pay raise if your gonna make the taxpayers suffer a 2.5% tax increase. We need a concerted effort, people, to reign in these free spenders and put fiscally responsible people on the board.

MOST teachers do not make more than 75!!! That is a salary someone MIGHT see at the end of a 20 year career and only if they took 90 hours of classes beyond their masters degree!! And any class that a teacher takes they pay for themselves!! Yes there is an increase after a certain amount of classes but teachers pay for them...just like the bachelors and masters degree that they are required to take! If you think teachers have it so good with salary by all means go to school yourself to be one...I don't know many teachers living the high life on their salary especially after you deduct students loans!!

I used to have the cigarette vending machine contract at the old RFA. I've been trying to get several machines into the cafeteria but I can't even get the school to respond. The machines make sense since it saves the student time if they don't have to leave school to by cigarettes.
The students are going to smoke anyway so why not make a profit?

My wife had been teaching for 5 years she has her masters and some admin classes completed. She makes $48,000 not $70,000.

The deficit is part cyclical (due to economic turn-down and the state cutting aid to respond to that) and part structural. The structural deficit is due to the infrastructure -- we have too many schools for the student population. Yet, every time they renovate an elementary school, they reduce the capacity of the building and the grade configuration; replacing K-5 with K-4. This means we have more principals, assistant principals, secretaries, janitors and teachers than needed for the student population.

When was the last time you heard any current or prospective board members address the structural deficit? Go ahead, take your time, I'll wait.

This district will always face a deficit, even if the economy becomes robust and state contribution climbs to the average level of the other states. The Sentinel will continue to publish the exact same news stories at budget time every year, simply revising specific numbers from year to year.

Question: if there is sufficient room in the other elementary schools to house the Joy students while Joy is being renovated, why are we not permanently closing Joy? It was built ~60 years ago with a 30-year design life. It is used up. Demolish it or replace it but for heaven's sake, don't renovate it one more time.

you vote no for the budget but they will get it anyway there is always a plan need to get gid of all board members then get rid of jeff and work your way down, how come budget has NO Trainer for next year, but will spend 25000 for RFA band to roam around down south.people of Rome need to wise up and get board out and get jeff out, contract must have a out clause if he doesn't perform to the job. put the clause back in MUST live in Rome if super or move there within a year of taking job!
