I have seen very few people that will actually put their real names up on here to defend themselves.I have even seen some of these people give their addresses out. Those people are the ones that get my utmost respect. Those are some ballsy people. The ones that dont have the balls to do it only proves that they have more skeletons in their closet than the person they are spewing their retard rants about and dont want their own scummy,f*cked up ways of living to be made public. You are nothing but damn train wrecks!

Okay and putting "mark" is really telling people who you are. You are just as retarded as the rest of us for even being on this site. They have put my name all over here too and mine is not one you hear a lot so suck it!

There is something to said for having a fourm where you can vent your frustration or gripe when talking directly to the person has failed. If you think outting your real name to a post will give you some sort of creditability to what you are saying then you need serious medication. I have in the past put my real name to a post or two a few years ago, and all it accomplished was some midnight visits by some people who did not like what I had to say. I expressed an opinion pretaining to a certain person who was running for office. It was an opinion, and apparently those opinions are not allowed or received well by certain people in this city. So I don't blame people for not putting their names on here. Grant you some, if not the majority of threads are just a means to get even in some way with someone they don't like. I never said I did not like the person, I just have no use for a person that will look you in the eye and lie right to your face. Then you have some thread that are nothing more than made up stories to bolster ones egos, or used to negate ones opinion. Then there are the people who are pissed their husbands, wives, or girfriends can't keep it in their pants and found out. I do have a registared screen name, but I choose not to use it. So until they require people to post their real names, then I will continue to post under whatever name I choose to use. Also for all you clonies out there, no I am not either one of the Jim's which you like to claim is the people posting about Fusco.

I totally agree with "Whats in a Name" post #4 above. I despise just about all our elected leaders and topix is a forum where I can vent my true feelings about these corrupt eggheads that neither one of our dailies will print in a letter to the editor. Its a known fact the Rome Sentinel will defend Joe Goof-o tooth and nail never print anything derogatory about him. And the Sentinel requires your street address when you do submit a letter for publishing. Some Rome residents had some negative comments about a certain school tax increase in the budget years ago and their houses were egged and had people driving by late at nite honking their horns. Aren't Rome residents allowed to express their opinions if they don't like a school or city budget without being harassed like that? Revealing your real name on Topix will not lend any more truth to your post. I kinda like the mystery and anonymity.

Funny someone mentioned letters to the editor. When I made comments on topix a couple of years ago I used my real name. I agree with "What’s in a Name" it caused me all kinds of problems. I had an experience after I sent a letter to the editor. I was very surprise to find the letter to the editor on the windshield of my car. Needless to say the letter never made the papers, and it does seem clear to me now the Rome paper is not reporting the news when it come to our current administration. I did not get a response when I asked how my letter ended up there; they said we never received the letter. Now how would my nighttime visitors get the letter I sent to the paper? I reported it to the postmaster general, and wanted someone held accountable for tampering with the mail. Nothing ever came out of it because they showed the letter actually went through the post office. They determined it was at the receiving end where it was either thrown out, or passed along to someone who gave it to the person I was critical of. There was more to it than being egged. My car developed a few flat tires, campaign signs kept vanishing from my yard, and a few well-placed phone calls. I can see people being passionate about someone they like running for office, but being passionate and being down right childish, and intimidating is another. I don't blame people for not posting their names on here. If it concerns you so much that people are speaking out about how screwed up this city has become, then maybe you should focus your attention on getting people to start doing a better job in running this city instead of worrying about who is posting on here.

The Rome Sentinel editorial board is also very pro-education, in the sense that they feel the residents of this city should always approve the school budgets...no matter how high they may exceed the tax cap. Millions upon millions for education, no matter what type of student is churned out.Doesn't matter what your personal financial situation is.

Hate to admit to it. but it does kinda show my age. I remember watching them on TV along with Jack Benny, Amos and Andy, the Lone Ranger, and Sky King. That is when comedy was funny, and shows had a moral to them. They also did not have to show half naked women to get ones attention.

I like the fact that this sight allows me to be anyonamous. however I choose to use this site to express my opinion on issues that I believe affect the entire community, I would never attack someone like me. an average joe whose back is against the wall. someone who will could end up loosing work, business, family, or friends. when what they need most is employment, and support. the majority of rome needs people in their corner, and needs allies. not annanymous enemies! we topix users, more than likely are in the same boat. we should have disscusions why thing are the way they are, and how we can solve that problem. I apologize about the spelling. I was never to concerned about what the school taught. I was more concerned with how to survive! I believe here is nothing wrong with just surviving. I do believe it is wrong for a small percentage of people to become wealthy off of others misfortune. you know the saying. you usualy end where you begin. more, and more we begin life with nothing. when you shop at walmart 80 cents on the dollar leaves rome. when you shop local. 70 percent of your dollar stay in rome. how long before all the money is gone? if you ask me we are almost broke.
