The Center For Disease Control just released a statement saying that 61 people per day, every day,die from prescription drugs. Deaths by all rifles (not just so called assault rifles)476 per year. If you stop the emotional roller coaster and think about this you will find the gun issue to be political smoke and mirrors, to hide behind and avoid the real issues of the day.
People are so ready to give up hard earned Rights that many Americans gave life and limb to protect.
Thank you for your time.

Dan, I can assure you that I am not an idiot.
I will also let you know that your right to free speech, such as in this forum, will no longer exist as you now know it, if we continue to just give up our rights one at a time. It is a good possibility that someone reading your printed word is offended by the content.Does this mean we should pass a law against free speech? Of course not,it is your right.
Please take a minute to think about that.
Thank You

Actually Dan we can own Bushmaster rifles already in our possession. Just have to register them with the state police. As a matter of fact there are about 19 million people in this state and about 10 million assault rifles owned by about 4.75 million people. This law should have been discussed publicly before it was voted on. Whether you own guns or not you all should be upset about what our state government did without public hearings or debate. We have lost our voice in the state government and every New Yorker should be sickened by what our elected officials have done with no input from their constituents.

Furthermore we should hold all the politicians accountable for not only how they acted in regards to this bill,(voting in secrecy in the dark of night with no input from the people that they represent) but for each and every vote they cast on behalf of themselves and their own political gains. It is time for change in Albany!!!

More guns less crime. The government pays the welfare people to sit home because it is their right to have food (even if they don't work), have children (even if they can't take care of them because they don't work), have medical care (even if they don't work), have internet access (even if they don't work), have a cell phone (even if they don't work), have a place to live (even if they don't work),... Therefore I believe Obama should provide a weapon for those who can't afford one so they can exercise their 2nd amendment rights (even if they don't work) unless their doctor reports them to the government.

Now put this in perspective the goouvenor was so back door and stupid in his rush to make points with the libtards he forgot the police in his rush to trample my 2nd, 4th, 14,amendment rights.

don't expect the sentinel's "editor" to stop re-puking the daily Limbaugh show. just skip that page entirely. i'd cancel my subscription but lots of good folks work there and it's the only daily rag we have but the editorials are just right wing garbage straight from the bubble.
