The Operations Manager at the Humane Society of Rome says the investigators once again went above and beyond their duties to make sure the puppies were safe.

So going back and looking for the puppies that they were told about is Above and Beyond. That statement scares me because it is implying that it is not normal practice for them to investigate these type of cases.

Just saying. Not criticizing or anything

Well let's take a trip to memory lane shall we........any one remember angle? If not let me remind you she was found starving tied to a leash with no water in summer time cops took her arrested the man, but after someone adopted sweet angle they found this man had shot her SEVERAL times with a Bb gun. What was done about that NOTHING, he received community service an protesters as myself we asked to leave so we did not cause a scean. I say we the people of Camden cause an uproar over this not just for Lanie but also angle and all the other animals who have to suffer for justice not protecting them. Animals can not talk so let us be there voice and stand up to this so called Justice system and let them know we have had enough of this bullshi* and sweeping it under the rugs, if nothing is done this time he may get only community services also let's not let that happen let's so these sew on patch cops if they can't do there job we will take it into our own hands and it will be a bigger mess for them to handle. Let's stop the animal abuse and let us be heard for there right. RIP Lanie never had the chance to meet you but I will always share a special place in my heart for you.

Ian West, Kirstie Cobey remember those names. Contact DA's Office, The Courts for the maximum penalty ,their employers to fire the sorry scumbag pieces of trash. Shun them. Show them no sign of compassion or decency. They deserve none of that. Nice that the ex-wife saved her sorry self and left that poor dog there to be punished for her. May they all rot in hell.

If you see a picture of this sweet dog you WILL cry! She was a beautiful little girl and still had love in her heart for humans despite our failings of her. There is a FB page devoted to her and changing the archaic animal laws in NY: "Justice For Lainey" In addition, there will be a memorial service for Lainey at the Rome Humane Society on June 3rd at 7pm. If you can't attend, please consider lighting a candle in her memory at 7.

I believe this case will be a catalyst for changing these laws, as many are watching as well as taking action to involve a large amount of animal lovers and politicians in this fight. Lainey cannot have fought her valiant battle to live in vain. Please take time to visit her page and get involved. As far as West goes - whomever his employer is should be embarrassed to have him in their employ! Same goes for the girl friend. Luckily the puppies are safe now.

Information on the Consolidated Animal Crimes Bill:
Contact your legislator to make sure they are aware of your strong support of the following two bills. Links to legislator by zipcode follow.
A775A-2013: Relates to promoting understanding, awareness and enforcement of animal crimes laws; repealer

The Consolidated Animal Crimes Bill (A.775a/S.1776) improves enforcement by placing animal crimes under the penal code (criminal law), which is familiar, accessible, and taught to law enforcement personnel. A.775a/S.1776 redrafts anti-cruelty laws that have gone without substantial revisions since the mid-19th century

Dear Legislator,
On May 20th in Camden NY, Lainey, a 4 year old Australian Shepherd died after being neglected and starved over a lengthy period of time

Please help our state's law enforcement agencies combat animal abuse by supporting the Consolidated Animal Crimes Bill (A.775a/S.1776), which would restructure the Penal Law to include New York's animal cruelty laws. Doing so will promote increased understanding, awareness, and enforcement of these laws.

And hopefully prevent the type of suffering that Lainey endured.

Sincerely,
(your name)

Hope this info helps those of you who will not MOVE ON and are willing to do something to make this outrage mean something more than words on a forum.

I've used this info to contact legislators. Not all the links work that well like the one for your assembly person by zipcode.
But blessings to the poster and to all of you that want to use this info. Time to step up folks. We're dealing with politicians that have agendas....we can put this on their agenda.
