Geez, everyone has been to like 4 tournaments, we haven't been to any. Baseball is starting and 1/2 the kids wont make it. Cmon guys, enter something. Utica, rome s, other towns have been to like 4 to 5 tournaments.

I've heard they cant get players to play, and some that did sign up, keep quitting. At least at one grade level, thats been the case. Its to bad. It'd be great to see as many groups as possible, giving kids an avenue to improve their game, and help keep them off the streets.

Not sure who told you they have to many players, but it seems they have exactly the amount they want.

Tri valley is only having issues with one team (5th grade). As for Select they are more aggresive with recruiting than Tri-valley is. Select is a little more by any means type of recruiting were Tri valley advertises in the paper and relies on word of mouth.

Tri-valley waits for the regular season to end before starting that's why we haven't been to any tourneys yet. If you play for us you know our first one is in 9 days. Other teams sometimes work around baseball season. I as a parent preffer it this way, get regualr season out of the way and give me a few weeks to relax. Now once we start up we go till begining of june I get another couple weeks of freedom and into summer league.

You should play now while everyone is in basketball mode still. In June, the interest falls off and there is too much baseball. Rome select does not do ANY MEANS recruiting like you say. There is one guy in tri valley not from rome that is downing everything and everyone other than tri valley. im just saying this D squad tourn this weekend is HUGE. you guys have missed some big tournaments.

I wasn't saying it in a bad way, nor was I trying to down anyone, but I do know from personal experience if they want a player they will try all they can to recruit that player. They just put themselves out there more than tri-valley does. My kids play only basketball and football and trust me their interest for basketball never falls off. For those that play baseball this team may not work for them. For those whose bigger interest is basketball this team is a great fit. My boys basketball season goes from end of October through mid-august. They only break long enough for football season. For us this team is a great fit. Regular season for us just ended 2 weeks ago, some of our boys are in a 3 on 3 this weekend and next weekend we have a big tourney in Albany. Yes we may not make it to every tourney around but I don't think the kids are missing out on anything. Whatever good tournaments we have missed these last couple weeks will be made up for latter in the season. These posts shouldn't be about who is better each team is run with a different style. Itís all about what team fits better for each child.

I 100% agree, in the end all that matters is that it works for the kids playing. I cant speak for everyone in Select, but from what I have seen, we all just want whats best for the kids. For BOTH organizations. I wish Tri-Valley well.....unless, we played them, of course.
