B building also had a tunnel but it went in to the sub basement under the Catholic chapel in the basement. it was not accessible to the attendents or nurses. agine only maintenance workers had access to this tunnel witch also went over to A building under there kitchen

some buildings you could walk directly in to the tunnels. if there basements ware below grade. ones with window wells. but if there basements ware only hafe way in the ground. with there Windows above ground. then you would have to crawl down in to the tunnels. as they would only come part way up to the basements

there are some state hospitals that have all General passage tunnels. I think most of the downstate mental hospitals have all General access tunnels to all of there buildings. why Marcy didn't I don't know. it would have been a lot more convinate if Marcy had a fully accessible general passage tunnel system. like Rockland and pilgrim had. I guess our upstate hospitals was built on the cheap. most V A mental hospitals are equipted with a full General passage access tunnel system

I was at Crane Hill School in the early sixties,
I left around 1964. I don't recall at all of any
abuse, be it sexual, physical or mental! Sure some of the staff had their problems, however, there was also staff that were very helpful to the kids there, to include Mrs Spears.

Absolutely! How old were you when you were there? I was there from 1959 to 1964 the first time. I was 6 when I was admitted, and 11 when I went home in 1964. I remember Cee Cee and Nancy. Cee Cee's name was Clarissa I believe. One of the staff members was trying to adopt her I think. Nancy was admitted in 1959 around the time I was. She was tall with long red hair. Evie worked the overnight shift, and was there at breakfast. Older, heavyset woman. Do I have the right person? There was another woman named Mae Vanamy. I didn't like her at all. She was a bully! I'll speak with Dawn about getting you on our Facebook page.

I am so glad to have found this forum!!! My husbands brother was sent to Crane Hill at the age of 7. Jeff is now 55 yrs. old and has begun to mention things that happened to him while he was at Crane Hill, a little blub every 6 monhts or so. We are very upset with what we have heard from him and are happy to hear the stories of those who lived there. Jeff has 2 different developmental disabilities so it is difficult for him to answer our questions from him - it is also VERY clear that memories are painful and that he doesn't want to talk about his years there. Because of his disabilities he may think out loud for a fleeting moment and we get a hint of his past experiences. If anyone remembers Jeff/Jeffrey Scott, we would love to hear from you. He probobly arrived at Crane Hill in 1965, I will confirm that with my husband if I need to. To all of the alumni - We applaud you for your courage and perseverence. To the new friends and supporters of the alum - Kudos to you too!!!
did jeff lay the drums i was in crane hill from 1966 to 1970 if jeff played the dums t

hi. this is john Morrison. I see we have some more survives from that little childhood nightmare. called CRANE HILL. yes we are the CHILDREN OF THE CRANE !!. it was a tale of quality scare !!. and not always quality care. but there was some. yes Im a little gulty of making a horra story out of that place. I do like Stephen king. in reality crane hill wasn't as scary as it was boring at times. with some highlight events inbetween. like Christmas and. the winter carnivals that we had. yea it was a mixed bag of tricks. and we all lived it.
