August 25 and 26 Rome Art and Community Center is hosting a Renaissance Festival. I doubt it'll be as big as Sterling but it's still exciting!

And no, you don't have to tell me what a huge dork I am, I already know :)

No, it won't be on the same scale as Sterling, after all, it is only the first year!
It is going to an awesome event, though! I can't wait! I hope to see lots of my fellow Romans at the RACC!

Why the Renaissance? Always a bunch of hippies soaked in potrouli oil, playing flutes. Lame.

I'm not sure what potrouli oil is but I always thought patchouli smelled pretty good.

Going to walk in a square behind RACC for $15 a ticket?! No thanks. Or is it $17 a ticket? Give me a break.

It was good; a little expensive but good. The king knighted my son after beating his fight master at the fighting school. Afterward the fight master showed me how to make the swords they use so my son and his friends could play with them at home. He's still bragging about being "Sir Josh". My three year old girl loved the petting zoo and the puppet show. The guy playing Shakespeare was wonderful and I also liked the bellydancers.

The only bad things are food turned out to be way overpriced and the jousting show was disappointing. I was hoping for real jousters, not a cheesy show. As expensive as the food was the beer was only $4 so my wife drove home.

So it was a Renaissance Fair for 6 year olds and parents that can't go a couple hours with their kids without chugging beers?!

My daughter also liked the fighting school but now I have to make a bunch of junk out of PVC so she can beatup on her brother. We liked the jousters but your right that the food and games were too expencive. They think after we buy tickets we can't count how much things cost. A guy told me the next one is at MVCC in Utica and it wont cost nearly as much.
