<quoted text>they get PAID alot of money to TEACH 180 days -5 hrs a day! Not a bad Job for their 90000 PLUS a year! There use to be Excelent teachers oin Rome YEARS AGO, now all they care about is the MONEY! They should be held accountable for the kids passing.
If you can teach a rock pile to read,I will support your idea.

I am a teacher.. and I know NOT ONE of my colleagues making $90,000. Try about half of that. The extra work, classes, professional development, and planning time that goes into GOOD teaching isn't worth mentioning to ignorant people who aren't willing to listen. But it does certainly exist. And Tax Payer, please consult spell check next time you spell 'doubt'.
Keep living in la la land TEACHER! A teacher STARTS out at 40000 PLUS! As for The extra work, classes, professional development, and planning time YOU GET PAID TO DO THAT! There are MANY teachers that make in EXCESS of 75000 per year in ROME!

In the Rome City School District there is...
10 people making over $100,000 per year.
36 people making over $90,000 per year.
106 people making over $80,000 per year.
150 people making over $70,000 per year.
Look it up. SeethroughNY.com
guess i was correct all along! The problem is teachers care more about the MONEY than they do teaching the kids!

If you're a teacher, I'm an astronaut. You might want to take a look at your sentence structure.

If someone in a circus can teach a wild African lion to jump through a hoop of flame, I am certain that a child can be taught to read.

And,as you can see, that is not even close to the majority. If you kept going, you'd probably see the bulk in the 40-60 range. And the pay is based on taking extra classes and years in the district. Also.. are administrators included in what you researched? Just curious.
Again, there's no way you're a teacher. A teacher would know how to start a sentence properly, and would also understand the purpose of an ellipsis.

Love the parents who spoils their children so bad they blame the teachers for their own failures. What as a oarent( or more like the child) are you doing to help them? It begins at home. This day and age the children rule the home and are so spoiled. Those are the children who fail in life. I love when they get to highschool and momma can't make their child get their own ways anymore. This is with what teachers you get, sports teams . The list goes on. Most quit, and we laugh because it all beings with YOU not parenting. Look in the mirror hunny and maybe you need to make a few changes.

What are you trying to say? None of this makes any sense. If you laugh when kids fail, you're just a jerk. Maybe you should be the one looking in the mirror. Check that attitude.

No wonder your children fail because of your attitude and name calling. Reread carefully. Stop blaming others for your mistakes you make parenting. Understand? They learn from what they are taught (,or not) at home. Name calling, bashing teachers and others is what they see from you. What the system needs is parenting classes, let the teachers decide who belongs in the class too. My 2 children are in high honors, and on 2 sports teams a year each. Yes I deserve to brag, they are thriving . Maybe you need to learn that one day hopefully so your generation in your family does not carry on the negative and ignorant ways . Good day, smile :)

Yet they blame the teachers... I agree with frustration over the compensation packages, but they can only teach. They have so many factors working against them,I think they are doing the best they can with what they have. The kids need more discipline, period! At school and home!

The Teachers need to step up earn their pay and do their job. Excuses are all we ever hear. I believe the school day should be 8 to 5, no summer vacation. The current system does not work yet we keep doing the same thing over and over.

We should be teaching Rome kids heroin prevention and how to vote in a good mayor and not stand for election fraud.
Then teach them to vote out useless politicians like Joe Griffo.....

These would be valuable lessons that the parents never learned!

They should also learn to boycott local newspapers who are controlled by politicians and refuse to print stories that they feel will expose fraud.

Class dismissed.......

Rome is full of scumbags. It's no surprise the school system will suffer.

When you have kids that don't care and teachers that are only in it for the money and time off, of course grades are going to suffer.

This is the same school district that half of the parents complaining graduated from. Were the summer vacations and hours working when you were in school? I believe they were.
