Check your taxes on your phone bill word has it your taxed to pay for the Obama freebie phones. It was even on the news, one lady who wasn't supposed to able to get a phone tried and got over 10 of them. People are even being stopped on the street and asked if they want one. YOUR taxes at work- haws it feel to be raped and not even kissed the saying goes pretty soon there wont be enough working class to fund the Obama freebies anyways

Free phone service was initiated by the REPUBLICANS. It was called lifeline so people could call for help if they needed it. As people switched from landlines, they created the cell phones which are cheap little pieces of crap with poor reception. They are good enough to call for help though if needed - to call for taxi rides to medical appointments, etc. They are given limited minutes to use each month.

I can see free landlines because not for nothing they are very cheap now but why should I pay over a hundred a month for my cell phone that I have to get up and go to work for everyday for some scumbags that are to lazy to do anything else than drink and drug all night

Trust me - you could probably buy one of these welfare phones for under $10 at Dollar General and they are only given a limited amount of time. Not all welfare people sit around drinking. Some have been thrown some serious misfortune in life. The death of a spouse, unable to find a job, laid off, learning disabled so they have limited job opportunities, etc. It's easy to judge from our ivory tower if we have normal IQ, parents who help put us through college, etc, etc.
why you suprised

Its one thing if the person is working and doesn't make enough to get by because they are a single parent or just needs HELP for a legit reason but for the most part its mostly scum that's too lazy to work..welfare was designed to be a help and hand not a career!!!

AFELINK WIRELESS Service is funded by the Universal Service Fund Lifeline program and administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company. In order to qualify for enrollment in the SAFELINK WIRELESS Program, a person must meet certain eligibility requirements set by each state where the SAFELINK Program is offered. These requirements are based on a person's participation in a state or federal support program(s) or by meeting certain income requirements based upon the Income Poverty Guidelines as defined by the US Government. Federal law limits the availability of the Lifeline Benefits. Federal law permits only one Lifeline benefit per household (which is defined as any individual or group of individuals who live together at the same address and share income and expenses). Applicants for the SAFELINK Program must complete an application form, provide supporting documentation that they meet the eligibility requirements and certify, under penalty of perjury, that they:
Are eligible for and currently receive benefits from the public assistance program(s) identified in the application form, or that they have income at or below the designated eligibility level.
