How many of these kids are really Romans and understand the tradition? Look around things have changed and not for the better. The coaches aren't to blame you can't make chicken soup out of chicken poop

In some circumstances yes, if you knew the coaches well and much about football, you wouldn't say that. Why do you think the same coaches make to the playoffs year after year, or have multiple championships? They get blood from a stone, that's why. They also know the sport and what it takes. A good coach can get the best out of his players, not laziness and lack of effort. Talent helps, but believe it or not, those kids have ALOT more than what they are showing, they just need a coach to get it out of them.

They need to FIRE the coaches & get in a coach that can win! RFA Football will be lucky to win 3 games!
Class of '83

Swavely has a good heart and loves the game, but he is not a good coach. I would recommend they recruit class of '83 Alum John Leftridge. Lefty knows the game, can motivate players and staff, and he has done great things with his team down there in Brooklyn. Lets get this program back on track.

This site is rude and disrespectful - so be it. BUT I think it is absolutely vile to talk poorly about children. It is morally wrong to post garbage about kids on topix.

When the base left it took three to five good position players from each sport! Even the good coaches know enough to stay away from Rome. Most kids are not dedicated and won 't do what it takes to win. Most don't really want to practice, they just want to play in the games. It's not just football, look at all the boys sports. I've probably coached and won more games than any of you played in. the talent and gene pool is dried up. do you think Coaches Flood,Hoke Myz, Evans,Davis and Bruce would even entertain putting up with the attitudes, shenanigans and antics that some of these young people display! Stealing cell phone from coach etc. Most of the kids thing that it's their entitlement to play and not a privilidge. Sorry if this offends anyone but let's call a spade a spade! Rome is not what it was and unfortunately most likely never will be again. Look at the test scores, drop out rates and graduation rates. If video games were a recognized sport we could be highly competitive.

that's a bit more intelligent and easier to get behind...I mostly agree, and its a shame because my son gives 110% and is awfully talented. sophomore going to start at running back most likely. I gotta support them either way.
